Please for the love of god do not support rabbit breeding by buying a bunny at a pet shop. It's incredibly cruel, and 90%(that's my own estimation from taking to pet shop people)of pet shops have no idea how to tell you about PROPER care for a rabbit. If you want a bunny, please do some research to find out what their needs are and then think about whether or not you'll be able to provide for those needs...then, go to a SHELTER and save a bunny! Most bunny shelters are so over run with unwanted rabbits that they have funneled into shelter volunteer homes as well as loving people who are willing to help by fostering, and on top of that there are still waiting lists with names of bunnies that can't be taken yet! I'm going to post this next message somewhere else, but if you're reading this, then you care, and I'd love it if you would come to this event and spread the word to friends as well....
The Colebrook / Winsted Jam Fest will be an all day music event Saturday, Sept 2nd, from 11am to 11pm. The event takes place at the Knights of Columbus on Marshall Rd in Winsted, CT. There will be 2 stages, one inside and one out, 20 bands, drum circles, food, vendors, games and raffles. For more information, and regular band updates, go to www.veganpeople.net/events . Tickets can be purchased at Metropolis or Chiane's in Torrington, Cafe 64 in Winsted, Blockbuster in Winsted, The Trading Post in Canton, other areas are listed on the website. Tickets are $10 in advance, or $12 at the gate. Please Carpool!
The money made from ticket sales will fund the much needed expansion of The Harmony House Rabbit Sanctuary. The Harmony House is a shelter devoted to taking in abused, abandoned, neglected and unwanted rabbits, and finding them loving new homes through a stringent adoption process. If the festival works out well, it will become an annual event dedicated to helping other animal shelters in need.
