This sort of thing would appeal to the pet funeral and cemetery crowd.

It's an animal. Nothing more. It can easily be replaced. Anthropomorphism is a quality in your mind, not in the animal.

PETA is a funny group. Animal activism: no matter how hard I try, I can't relate. It just doesn't matter to me if baby seals get clubbed. As gruesome as the images of this are, and as callous as my statement may sound, it really doesn't change my life at all if there's less seals around.

The Inuit may see it differently, however.

Go to your image search, do it now; type in 'Charlotte Ross'. PETA has a rather fetching image of her lying prone in the nude, holding a rabbit which discretely covers her breasts. "I'd rather show my buns than wear fur."

I love this pic. It's my desktop background.

Oh, incidentally, I've often wondered what sort of things people put on a pet's 'headstone'.

Is there some sort of dog god? Do they put crosses? "Beloved stinking animal, my best friend. How I yearn to clean up after you in the afterlife."

I think I would carve and engrave a 19 foot tall can of Alpo out of pink granite.

I love your comment and agree with it except for one small thing - I'd rather wear the fur and in fact do!

You're an animal too, only when you die, you shouldn't be replaced. And I hope that happens very, very soon.

PETA = People Eating Tasty Animals
PETA is full of it. They are animals - not people. Get a life!

If God didn't want us to eat animals, He would not have made them out of meat.
Okay, I do feel bad that I saw two teenage boys feed a kitten whiskey when I was eleven. I did nothing out of fear they would kick my butt. There, my soul is cleansed now. I'm off to get a steak.

Another beat yourself up website devoted to self confession.

What possesses people to make them go on tv or a website and bare their souls?

We've all got regrets, live with em and move on for God's sake.

YOU GET A LIFE!!! They're not just animals-they are a living, breathing thing created by God. Unless you own an animal, you'll never understand how they become like a part of the family-LITERALLY

Does PETA address what lions do to other animals in the wild?

They're just a crackpot group and I wouldn't listen to them AT ALL.

Slightly overboard emotionally, perhaps the reason you place them on the same pedastal of your family members ...yes, a living, breathing thing...but never ever on the same level as my family..part of,but never ever equal..isn't even close...something happens to any of our pets, I simply remember what a good pet it was and go grab the shovel and bury it in the back yard...don't think my wife would let me do that with one of the kids !

((chucklin')) Congratulations ABJ. Finally a lighthearted article filled with humor.

Odd though, not one of the "save the puppy people" have mentioned their animal sins here yet.

Yes, PETA is a bit extreme. However, that doesn't mean their underlying message of proper care and respect for animals is without merit.
The website simply demonstrates that many people have treated animals in ways they regret. Hopefully, the stories inspire others to treat the animals in their own lives a little better.

Peta was a good idea but just like everything else. they went too far.....seems like a Peta member would step over a hurt human to help a hurt animal.

how are they part of your family when you state that you "own" them?
