The Department of Environmental Conservation says they have good reason for seizing the pet fish of a Liverpool family.

It seems that the owner knows what he has and how to care for it and since he bought the fish before they were illegal he should be allowed to keep it.
These are very dangerous fish but from the clip it looked like he had an appropriate lid on the tank and I don't see a problem with the man keeping the fish.

He should be able to keep the fish, after having it for 10 years and what not. Sounds like the dec has nothing better to do.

I am a college student... An Environmental Studies major at that.
If this is what my future career entails, then forget college. I do not want to become the reoccurring theme of unreasonable and unnecessary pesky attitude that the DEC seems to carry around with them!
No reason, that owner should have his PET fish taken from him!
WHAT IF scenario.. It escapes, flops to a river, Infiltrates the NY state waterways! Kills fish! Dies in a few years, without a chance of spawning..... a few fish die! No one in heck would it eat all the fish in NYS....
