Wow so many people that love foxes. I bought an artic fox last night for my birthday. It was a big mistake, because I dont have what it takes to raise it in a healthy environment. I am keeping it in the house right now. its a baby and is deathly afraid. I paid 300 dollars but I cannot keep him I would at least like to get my money back but I really want him to go to a really good home. I think he is illegal where I live and do not want him taken from me and destroyed. He is the most beautiful creature I have ever laid my eyes on. I was very foolish to buy him without knowing what I was getting into. If anyone has a really good home for him to go to please email me at meekabear21@yahoo.com

For all those looking to buy a fox baby, I will tell you now. Please! Please! Reconsider! As a Fox Wildlife Staff Director I was you, Foxes DO NOT make good pets! If you want a fox I'd Advise you look into the dog breed Shiba Inu, they look exactly like Foxes!
I don't want to seem like the annoying anti-pet person but currently I care for three red foxes, two of which were originally pets and donated by their owner who didn't have what it takes to care for them. They are agressive when they age, they are timid and fearful, They reek like a skunk and also will rip apart your house. A Shiba Inu is like a fox in looks but they are extremely friendly, intelligent, and very tidy.
If you still wish to go through with owning a fox, you should have a house located in the woods away from hunting grounds, make your backyard/land like a giant zoo. Place a high fence around your property and use hard stones or concrete to keep the foxes from digging out.(Soft soil can be poured ontop of it.) The fence should most likely be cover to make some protection from birds of prey and so the foxes don't climb out.
A single fox will take about $10,000 to care for in its lifetime, could most likely be more.

I, myself currently own: 2 Shiba Inus, 3 Wolves, 1 Wolf-dog, and 3 Foxes. My wolves were trained by experts and are used for wildlife in films. My Shibas are the only animals that live in the house besides one of the foxes who is still a baby.

If anyone has any questions about raising foxes they can email me at: reccastevens@hotmail.com

Chelsea, I sent you an email about your fox problem, hopefully we can find him a new home.

Eh, hello... foxes are wild animals that do not make suitable pets. Get a cat or dog. Idiots.

Haters stop being mean to those who are interested in owning a fox. A few people contacted me already and were quite willing to put the effort in to it. I can guide you with the care, but its not easy.

Also if you are young and still depend on your parents, talk to them first about it.

(Those who plan to contact me, sorry if I don't reply right away. But I'll email you back asap.)
