nope. i was dead serious. i put up with endless cr@p from 'dog experts" who though my lab/doby cross was a pittbull. there is a couple who have a pure bred irish terrier, and they have already reported to the reaction of many ppl berating them for owning a "dangerous pittbull' LOL - it doesn't even remotely resemble one except for maybe having a short coat and being brindle (which many dog breeds can be). many news reports have also cited various mongrels and crossbreds as "pittbulls' or "pittbull lookalikes'- so there's no real estimate out there to what is actually the truth is there? all we have are ppl's opinions that the dog they claim is a pittbull, is in fact one. when you go to an er and ask them which type of dog bite they deal with the most, most of them don't even cite pittbulls. its obscure breeds like chows and spaniels. so yes - i think the site is great - take a look at it - just how many pics did you click on that you thought was a pitt, was in fact a lab or something else? its food for thought for those who can think. those of us who own the 'lookalikes" which aren't even remotely related to the breed, are just sick and tired of stupidity and ignorance from the "public media dog experts" who's claim to "pet" fame is owning a hamster. |

1 Loving dogs!!!! Pit bulls were originally bred for bear fighting, what place does that have in a civilised society? The stupid breed today is used for:- macho accessories, a cheap burglar alarm, or an attention seeking device for the mentally ill. |
||||
i trust that by the "mentally ill' you do not mean the developmentally and physically handicapped ppl that pitts are being used as therapy dogs for? and by 'macho accessorites", you are not referring to the armed and police forces that use pitts for crime prevention? |

1 Pitt Bulls make lousy police dogs, and there aren't many. As far as therapy dogs, that's just pitt owners pushing off there dogs as useful. They're not. Pitt owners are not afraid to make up lies about how wonderful pitts are. |

1 therapy dogs undergo extensive handling, personality testing and training you fool. therapy dogs are no more just "taken of the streets" than therapy horses are. if you knew even remotely of what you are talking about here, which you QUITE obviously don't - i DO as i have WORKED in this field, you wouldn't make such an assinine, mindnumbingly stupid statement. learn to use your "search" tool and do some research instead of being so ignorant. |

Guess what .....you guessed it.....another pit attack in Jackson,TN.
The first attack occurred on Skyhaven Drive around 7:15 a.m. after a 16-year-old ran through a ravine attempting to escape the dogs. The teenager had serious injuries to his face and body after being bitten by the dogs, Holt said. Shortly after, the two dogs returned to the corner of Rainbow Cove and Greenfield Drive in Skyview Estates, where they then went after an 8-year-old girl, her 10-year-old brother and their mother, police said. The boy and the girl had bite marks on their chests, wrists and lower leg areas, while their mother's were on her wrists and arms. Holt said the victims were taken to a local hospital, but he didn't think they remained in the hospital for treatment. No charges had been filed Wednesday against the owner of the dogs, who lives on Rainbow Cove, he said. |

How about this solution? Any dog, Pit Bull or otherwise making a vicious unprovoked attack on someone should be put down. Any dog that behaves itself, Pit Bull or otherwise should be allowed to exist in peace. One is many times more likely to die from a gun accident or at the hands of a drunk driver than from a dog attack by all breeds put together.

"Pibbles" are NOT the problem - inbreeding and poor training from idiodic psuedo humans are the issue.

That is partially true - this list will change upon the years, depending on which dog gets the most attention and hence, becomes popular and then bought and over/poorly bred. A Dalmation is number 10, out of the top 10 dogs. Right now, this list http://www.petsdo.com/blog/top-ten-10-most-da... claims Pitties as number 1. But I've seen cocker spaniels on this liost before too - so much depends on the popularity of the dog and what people do WITH that. |

Pit bulls are no different than any other dog. They're actually easier to train and more loyal than a lot of other dogs. They are strong and scary looking and have been placed in a stereotype because of their use in dog fighting, but they're not the only dogs that have been used in fighting. Any dog can be raised to be mean, and likewise any dog can be raised to be nice. There's no inbred disposition for violence in them. It is a myth just like the locking jaw myth.
