The only thing a pit bulll ban will do is cause more "backyard" breeding which leads to more irresponsible ownership and more aggressive and more fighting dogs. It will wipe out all the responsible owners and leave only the irresponsible criminal type people that are creating the reputation these dogs have already. Theyre criminals so they obviously won't follow any law towards pit bulls anyway. The breeding and owning of these dogs will never stop. We have two pits one is called boss and is one year old and is the most loving dog ever he dotes on my fiancee. he's got me a 13 week old female pit and she is so beautiful and I know she will be my pride and joy. I have also got a lhaso apso and boss loves her to bits and he so nice with her. I love my doggys so much and they love us and are loyal and kind and loving and when we are poorly they never leave our side. How dare you say pits need to be destroyed? I have 5 pit bulls and I have never seen them act aggressive towards children. My little brother is 1 and my 7yr old red nose hasn't barked, bit, or growled at him. None of my dogs are aggressive, and when they are that is because someone in their pack is in harms way. I have had incidents where I have been mugged and if it wasn't for me having my pit i would have been seriously hurt. Pitbulls are one of the most safest dogs. They PROTECT their pack. They do not run around aimlessly trying to fu** with people or other dogs UNLESS the person who owns them is teaching them to do so. I can not believe some of you. Smh

I see a lot of virulent rhetoric on both sides. I will simply choose not to take chances and choose a another breed of dog than a pit bull. In Florida, many people will not rent to pit bull owners as the owner of the house will be liable for any injuries at the hands of a pit bull and most insurance carriers will not cover injuries by certain breeds including a pit bull. Neighbors will also tend to think of pit bull owners as being lowclassed. Personally, I think they are ugly and not particularly intelligent and I can think of a number of other breeds I would rather own.

Here's something for all you pit bull lovers! And haters. Last night I went to a bonfire and there was a yellow lab, a golden doodle, a mix breed, a golden retriever, and 2 pit bulls. Guess who was causing the most problems?!.......the retriever and the yellow lab! For one thing. The lab snarled, barked and lunged at a lady friend of his owner. Many times. She refuses to be around that dog ever. Another thing the lab and the retriever got into a couple nasty fights we had to keep them seperated. Absolutely no problems with either of the pit bulls, as they both have responsible and knowledgable owners. Whoever says they are all bad dogs and need to be killed needs to have a positive experience with them and give them a chance they are good dogs in the right hands, just like any dog breed. STOP DISCRIMINATING!

Looking on google vids on pitbull attacks in america, regardless as to blaming the deed not the breed. All bully breeds are lovely but for high prey drive, high energy, dominant breeds, they should be licensed and owned by proffessional dog handlers, to many know alls destroying a breed through lack of breed knowledge. Whether its a person, animal or another dog being attacked, dog owners of specific breeds shouldnt own them unless proven knowledge and practical suitability tests are under taken. There are too many pitbull attacks on people and animals in public online. to dukeyboy - thanks for posting a video that few would have the guts to post. while that seemed to be territorial aggression, rarely would any other breed tear apart another canine with such joy.

to everyone else - pits were once nice dogs, then they got bred by scum and now the breed is horribly unpredictable. dukeyboy is right though. even the properly bred pits should only be owned/handled by professionals.

When ever a dog gets out of hand it is 100% the owners fault. dont you ever say that because most of the time its dogs saving our lives with the police ect.
