I lost my soul mate Rotterman a few years ago and have not found a replacement. I did rescue a 3 yo female Rottweiler but she just doesn't have the energy the cross does and I ride horses and like to have the dog as a companion. I will keep searching until I find him again. Miss him so much. Best breed I've had. He always had his eye on me no matter what and as friendly as could be.

I was wondering if anyone knew of where i could find a Rotterman puppy. I live in NC and would be willing to drive a little to get one. The last one I had was a great dog. People described him as a Doberman on steroids. He was very protective of family and a great companion to have in the woods. Now that i am a single father I want one my daughter can raise and have as a Friend and companion.

Were you located? I'm in the puppies. I have done my research. And fall for the breed.

It really annoys me when people moan about cross breeds. Please tell me do you never see a pure breed in a shelter???
I have taken a look at my local dog shelter, and guess what most of the breeds in it where pure breds, with only a few Mutts as a person on here called it.
I have to say if anything i would question the pure breed more than a x breed. The breeder is certainly making more money out of them than a x breed. A pure breed also has alot of interbreeding my registered red setter had the same great grand parents on both the sire's side and the bitches side. Also alot of pure breeds have certain genetic disorders that are typical of the breed.
Also how do you people think these pure breeds came about. The doberman for instance is a relativly new breed of dog, which has lots of diffrent breeds in such as rotweiler and german shepard.
I own a doberman x rotweiler and he is the most lovely dog i have ever owned. Dogs dont go to shelters because there not pure bred, they go to shelters because people cant be bothered with them and dont train them properly. A pure bred does not arrive fully trained and nor does a x breed.
It really annoys me with peoples oppinon on x breeds, i personally would never buy a pure breed ever again, i would not want to line a breeders pockets with hundreds of pounds, and also after my experiance of my pure breed who had nothing but health problems would never buy a pure breed ever again it cost me far to much money.
Also on another note if you look at any website selling pure bred dogs you will notice that the bitch's cost more money than the dogs, probably because they are going to breed within a inch of there life. This is less likly to happen for a x breed as there would not be much money in it sso if they were it would be probably for the right reasons.
Sorry if my opinion offends but thats my thought on it

I just lost my best friend of 8 years last night and he was a Rotterman. Deuce was the best dog that I have ever known. I was single for most of his life and the last two years he was introduced to my new wife and her family. We even have 7 month old boy now between us. Deuce loved having a family. He played and played with the kids. Even though he always slept next to me, when my wife got pregnant he started to sleep on her side of the bed. Once our baby was born, he slept in front of the baby. Truely a loyal dog that wants to be loved. Also he is the smartest dog I haave ever seen. He could open doors, toilets, feed him self, climb ladders, very easy to walk on a leash, and knew the difference between left and right. Truely amazing. I love him and will miss him forever. I can't replace him but we will be in the market for another Rotterman I'm sure.

They are MUTTS. WHY do people like you keep breeding mutts, then try to sell them to make money? Is there not enough dogs dying in shelters everyday for you?
I saw this breed today for the first time. I had a Rottweiler for 12 years, but I really liked this breed that you call a mutt. A beautiful dog.

Reading the comments on rottermans nearly made me cry over the last 40 years growing up on a farm we have owned lots of dogs and some truly great ones . But after getting a rotterman off. Someone who could not keep it any longer 3 years ago she is the best dog we have ever had she is so loving and a great companion and so clever and makes me laugh every day I will miss here so much . Looking on the net there does not seem to be that many I can't work out why they are not more popular .

If you god to www.dogbreedinfo.com and look up what a hybrid is and what a mutt is you will see there is a difference. Just thought i would let you know. A mutt has unknown dog in it and is usually more then 3 breeds into one. Hope you all will look it up and add some knowledge to your speaches. Thank you
I also have rotterman puppies they are the best dogs ever good personality smarter then half the dumbasses on here that don't know what they are talking about....
