Police get by with doing wrong things and then make it look like they are the heros. They shoul have never shot the dog, Should have backed off and called the dog shelter and let them taken him under control until the matter was settled. This was a pet and when someone raises a dog it becomes part of their family, the police should lose his job for being so quick to shoot the boys pet. Next time it might be a person he decides to shoot

I agree. Officers need not be so quick to kill an animal. It seems that officer doesn't know dogs very well & is afraid of them. Not a good quality in a police officer.

Get real people. I love dogs and have 3 of my own. They are my babies but if my dogs were running loose and they tried to charge a police officer when he's trying to do his job then I can't really blame him if he shoots my dog. Even if the dog wasn't running loose the owner should have had control of the dog before she even opened the door. The police officer wasn't there for no reason. Animal control officers aren't on duty 24/7 so the police have to take care of the problems a lot of time. And even if the officer is afraid of dogs that doesn't make him a bad police officer. It would make him a bad animal control officer. And Bann, Police officers are Heroes. Why don't you look up the average life expectancy of a police officer and then tell me why they shouldn't be so quick to draw a gun. I know I sleep better because they are around. Only ones that complain about them are the low lifes that are usually in trouble and have to deal with them.....hmmm

Get real yourself police shoot anything and any body they want. That is why this country is in such decline. You don;t know a hero from a criminal. A dog is part of the family and police have no right to lie to you are about you but they do every day. Where I live,I could hear the dog barking behind the house(dog tied up at his dog house. I walked out of the garage 2 state police were joking about how they could blow his head off or take him out with with one shot. Being a combat veteran I've seen people like this that would kill anything.I always keep a 12 ga for wild animals(live in a very secluded area)I walked out and told them not to do it are or lives would change for ever.NO WAY WAS I GOING TO LET THEM KILL A FAMILY MEMBER FOR THE FUN OF IT.They backed off, they knew what I have done in war and I would follow it through.HOW MANY LIVES HAVE POLICE DESTROYED WITH ATTITUDE THEY CAN DO ANYTHING. WAKE UP PEOPLE THEY ARE ONLY HUMAN,WILL PUSH AND DESTROY YOU IF YOU LET THEM. I DON'T TRUST A POLICE OFFICER WHEN THEY GET THE POWER THEY CHANGE INTO A CRIMINAL WITH A BADGE AND GUN. QUESTION AND SECOND GUESS EVERY THING THE POLICE DO OR ONE DAY YOU WILL HAVE NO FREEDONS AT ALL. THERE ONLY HUMAN LIKE YOU AND ME BUT HAVE MORE POWER TO DO WRONG.

I have 3 dogs of my own that I baby but that wont stop me from shooting a strange dog if it charges me like it's going to bite. I know before I open my dog I make sure I gain control of my dogs before I open my door. It's common sense. Control your dogs or face the consequences for your actions. Also like I said, only criminals have that much hostility with the police.
