You must be joking. Tell me more about the canine teeth, have you tried to eat a cow by biting it using your "canine teeth" already?
Let me tell you a secret. The only component that can make a cat go blind is called Taurine. And yes, if you are giving your cat ANY type of diet that doesn't have Taurine on it, he will go blind, no matter if your diet has got meat on it or not.
The only disease a cat can spread with their feces only affect pregnant woman if she eats the cats feces, so again you are talking a bunch of non-sense.

And no vegans do not practice coprophagy because this would be just stupid as eating meat. Feces and urine are made of everything your body REFUSES to absorb. Everything that is in excess or your digestive system cannot break and absorb.

I don't know what kind of vegan people you met over there, but it is absolutely possible to replace or supplement every single nutrient having a vegan diet. Its all about balance, If you eat only MEAT MEAT MEAT MEAT MEAT MEAT MEAT and nothing else I beat you will get seriously ill. The same applies to someone that does a "vegan diet" in the wrong way.

You need to review your ideas and go study a bit more of biology, nutrition and physiology (animal and human) before you go around on forums spreading words without having any idea of what you are talking about.

YES! PLEASE! Feed your cats a vegan diet!
This way your cats will go irreversibly blind and stay at your own home instead of destroying all wildlife and spreading their diseases through their feces everywhere they go.
THANKS!!
(Vegans are so stupid that they don't even realize whey they were born with canine teeth. I wonder if they practice coprophagy, like many herbivores do. Eating their own feces in order to be able to extract enough nutrients out of their nutrient-deficient diet. Perhaps this is why most vagans are as stupid or insane as they are. Not enough nutrition, their minds aren't firing on all cylinders. Saying "EAT SH!T" to a vegan is only wishing them better health you know.)

I ask about vegan not because of my preference but because the cat is allergic to animal proteins!

You're actually pointing to your teeth and calling them canines, just because they were labeled that? No. Humans do not have true canines. Canine teeth are developed in order to rip raw flesh apart. When you chase a rabbit down, rip it apart alive with your bare teeth, and then swallow it whole, please let me know. Also: the word is Vegan, not Vagan. Eating their own feces? What are you even talking about?:P All of the posts that spoke of their cats living more healthily than any other cats, with no blindness to speak of, on a completely Vegan diet, and you still spout this dribble? Incredible.

Humans can produce their own taurine, but cat's can't. So if you are making them go vegan, please put a taurine supplement in their food. Lack of it causes blindness.

I have a little cat I call "Devil Cat" becsuse even tho he is not afraid, he won't let me pet him. But I am about to change his name to "Billy" because he is like a little Billygoat. He eats everything. He will KILL for a mushroom. He loves those really tasteless kind that come sliced in the can. He eats a whole can like he's starving for them. He also goes crazy for Campbells mushroom soup, undiluted, straight out of the can. He loves mac and cheese or anything with cheese in it which is understandable since it has milk, but he also loves all vegetables, and potato chips. He loves oatmeal.

I still feed him regular meat cat food, for the nutrients. But don' let anyone tell you that cats can't digest vegetables, because my little Billygoat has never had any tummy problems, and he eats everything.

Yes, Nicole, it is "your choice" what kind of cat you get, but when you make the choice to buy from a breeder, you send one little orphan in the pound to the euthanasia chamber, or you let one little orphan stay on the street. For God's sake, don't be so selfish.

She didn't say they should be killed. She just said they should be bred out. It would save so much suffering. The little chickens, cows, and turkeys can suffer just as you and your cat can. We should not eat them or feed them to our pets if we can avoid it.

My Female Siamese eats Ami cat. I have tried other Vegan cat foods like Evolution cat diet. She only eats Ami cat. I wish i had more choice for here, but at least i have Ami Cat Brand Vegan Cat food. She eat very little else i have found be it meat, fish, dried cat foods, vegan cat foods both wet and dry. She eats almost nothing but Ami Cat. I am sorta worried and frustrated there are not more choice for her. Also being a Vegan on a budget i find it difficult to keep investing in the varied range of meat cat foods while my past experience with meat cat foods is when given a vegan alternative or even only meat food she is still just as picky an eater and often won't touch what is offered. She still eats the Ami Cat but won't touch the Evolution diet cat products and i have tried them all. She does eat some of my food like corn, or certain soups.. She prefers Hemp Milk to soy milk, and usually eats them mixed with corn or peas mushed up. Still wish there were more Vegan options.

I don't care what logic is behind it. Just because you don't consume meat does not make it right for you to force those ideas onto a cat. Your cat is probably saying damn... where is the beef???
In the wild a cat would rarely if ever eat beef. Pet cats cannot take down cattle. You are absolutely wrong about that. Also many Vegans would never force anything on their pets. I always gave my cat choices and she choose Ami cat vegan cat food. she is happy healthy and the most loving companion animal i have ever meet.

Unfortunately there's no incentive for manufactures to develop vegan cat foods while there's low public demand and copious amount of usable left overs from human meat processing.

Vegecat is a supplement. This contains nutrients and minerals necessary for cats, you add it to organic whole foods :)

You obviously need to do more research and less mouthing off and calling names, because the only person who looks like a half-wit moron here, is you.

You talk about animal cruelty while not giving a crap about the unnatural and dangerous life style for the animals you are feeding to your cat - ever hear of factory farming? THOSE are the animals that end up in cat and dog food. There is more than just the cruelty issue when it comes to wanting to abstain from meat when feeding our pets. Thanks to factory farming, 99% of meat sold at your local grocery store comes from sickly, genetically modified animals that subsist on a diet of additives, hormones and antibiotics.

Many people assume because feral cats primarily eat birds, mice and insects that they must retain a carnivorous lifestyle when they are domesticated. The problem with that line of thinking is that cat foods are made primarily with cows, chickens, turkey, and fillers such as corn, rice, etc., not exactly the natural diet of your typical wild cat. Throughout the years domesticated cats have adapted to this very diet. The key word being adapted.

What about certain nutrients that cat's need that is found in meat, such as taurine? During the rendering process meat loses taurine, thus all taurine found in pet food is synthetic. There are other ways of adding taurine but I'll let you chew on what I've already written for a while.

And remember, all those factory farmed animals didn't get to make political choices either - they don't get any choice. Funny how important you think the cats are but not the other animals who are no different than a cat as far as wanting to live. This goes beyond politics and if you did more research and less judging, you'd know that. This is about fixing a huge problem we have created in domesticating animals in the first place.

(above was in response to this one...)

What possible reason could you have for refusing to feed your cat meat? THEY NEED MEAT TO STAY HEALTHY!!! CATS ARE OBLIGATE CARNIVORES.

Another mindless vegan baboon, Like it or not most pet foods are made from slaughtered material deemed unfit for human consumption, so it makes little difference what sh*t is fed to the cat or doesn't that fit into Peta's twisted ideology?

Hush loud mouth there's no need to feed your pets slaughterer house leftovers, many cats thrive on a vegan diet, my two cats love AMI vegan products and most important my vet cannot fault their health.

WTF. Lets get to the truth you rather dump perfectly viable meat suitable for pet consumption and feed your carnivorous pet a vegan diet courtesy of AMI vegan pet-foods all because you want to hit the meat industry in the pocket.

"A cat is an obligate carnivore. Any half-wit moron who feeds their pet a vegan diet should be convicted of animal cruelty." Well, humans don't need to eat meat, but keep the slaughterhouses busy never the less, so maybe they should be convicted for animal abuse for that as well.
