Wrong question. The question is, when will the public ever get it through their naive heads that politicians run for office for their own benefits, not for their constituents' welfare?

Yes I relly, relly do! And you think people run for office just to "serve" the public? Then why do they take all the money they can get from lobbyists and vote the way big corporations want them to, which is almost always against the best interests of ordinary people? Power and greed motivate politicians.
