My sister in law just got scammed too.. I couldnt believe it when I read the email threads.. the very first email was SO clear these people cannot even spell their last names..she ended up paying over $1,500 in fees, etc.. which blows my mind how people can still be scammed.. bottom line, GO ADOPT a dog!

me and my girlfriend are in the process of buying an English Bulldog for 400 dollars, the funny thing is the woman who is trying to get us to send the money through western union said the dog was free and that all we have to pay is for the pet chauffeur which was 400 dollars.. the woman even said that she already gave the puppy to the pet chauffeur place already.. first we didnt have 400 dollars until she said we could send half now & the rest on friday, so we were going to send the money through western union like she said until we noticed that the address wasnt even the same as the pet chauffeur place was, she wants us to send it to country,CAMEROON, and the city is BAMENDA, which isnt the same adress as the pet chaffeur, and on top of all of this why is she still sending us messages and why is she still talking to us if the dog is out of her hands already?? bc she is still messaging us, and defending the fact that we asked her if it was a scam n she said no, she just moved out there previously...

I was just contacted by someone because I placed an ad on craigslist that I ws looking for a Pitt bull. A lady replied to me that she was a walking nurse in the Peace Keeping Force in the UN but was just relocated to the Central Great Lake Region in Cameroon. That the puppy is 14 weeks old and she just wants her to have a good home because she can't spend time with her now. That it will only cost $125 to ship her and she's mine. Is this a scam and how can I know for sure? She asked me a bunch of questions and said she would let me know if I could have the puppy. Any thoughts?

ABSOLUTELY THIS IS A SCAM- THERE IS NO PUPPY!

Here's how this CAMEROON AFRICA PET SCAM works:

The pet scammer will ask interested buyers to pay the dog’s shipping costs to a fake “pet shipping company” in CAMEROON AFRICA. The victims wire money for the dogs but only get excuses for the delay. Instead, they're repeatedly asked for more money to cover additional "fees" invented by the scammer. Then the scammers will concoct even more fees that the victim needs to pay after the dog has been supposedly shipped.

BEWARE, THESE CAMEROON AFRICA PET SCAMMERS ARE MAGGOTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET.

You can identify these scammers because they will insist you pay by money order or wire transfer. NEVER wire funds via Western Union, MoneyGram or any other wire service -- anyone who asks you to do so is a SCAMMER.

ALL OFFERS OF PETS FROM CAMEROON AFRICA ARE SCAMS, WITHOUT EXCEPTIONS!

I have been scam also, they had the pictures and everything. First was the delivery it was suppose to be $80, then the delivery company called they said $100, which we paid then it was shots and a new kennel and then something else. They are still trying to get money out of me. I still have all my receipts and all emails from the agency and the so called owner

Last night I saw an ad for Yorkies puppies and the lady said text me for more info so I text and shortly after got a message back asking for my email to send info and pictures to... After conversations for hours on if I wanted to get them or not I decided I would for my daughter! The lady said she was giving them away because she was relocating and I just needed to pay shipping so I sent her the $240 this morning got emails saying my puppies was on a flight outta Delaware and would land in Minnesota at 4:10!@ 4:15 got an email from the delivery service(VIP DELIVERY SERVICE) stating the puppies needed insurance and if get it back at delivery at my home $750!!! I got curious and told them I wasn't paying it and wanted to talk to a live rep! Never heard back !!! How freakin stupid am I right??? Ugh

Thank you Amy for sharing! I was a victim as well and I think it's important to share how people become a part of pet scams. And YOLANDA, I'm not sure why you had come on this site to make a negative comment. Posting rude comments shows how immature and ignorant you are. Better luck with that attitude elsewhere.
