Another attack of a child by a pit bull. I would like to see this breed of dog, with vice-like jaws, be banned from communities where children reside. They appear to be highly unpredictable. The community should be outraged. The owner should have his dogs taken away, charged with assault with a deadly weapon, forced to pay all medical bills for this poor girl. Why does anyone need a pitbull anyway. Just foolish...

.. and regarding the previous comment..first learn how to spell correctly, and then go jump in a pen of pitbulls you moron.

Typical ignorance from a typcical uninformed want-a-be know-it-all. "They appear to be...". Please, follow up with your first-hand experience. I would be interested to know what background you have, either with this paritcular breed, or with any dog behavioral education.
Are you aware of the many studies showing the press, AP in particular, are biased in their reporting of dog attacks based on breed. Do honestly think labradors, boxers and shepards don't attack people? They do, but the press doesn's report them.
Pit Bull's are a wonderful, loyal breed and most often than not, have a pleasent tempermant. People, not the breed, are the problem. Irresponsible owners. Idiots. And although I hold them most responsible, I hold dumb asses like you a close second. They are idiots and have a lack of intelligence as an excuse. You, however, would prefer to present yourself as educated, meaning your only excused is your an asshole.

That dog in the video was on a very heavy chain, and living in dirt. What a lovely way to treat your pets. Read "Fatal Dog Attacks"..... a huge percentage of attacks were done by CHAINED DOGS and no, Pitbulls were NOT at the top of the list. A constantly chained dog is a dangerous dog, be it a pitbull, lab, or ANY breed. And to you, Gringo, what do you mean by "vice-like jaws"? A Pitbulls jaws are no different than any other breed. Go read a book.

I understand every one thinks pitbulls are the evilest dog out there, but really they are quite sweet. All breeds of dogs can be mean, all breeds can be the best family member possible. It all depends on that dog, not the breed. We have 3 down the block from us and I have no problem with my children playing with them, they are extremely sweet, though somewhat protective. The issue is that pitbulls, like boxers, shepards, Mastiffs, Labs, Bulldogs, all become possessive of their yard and family. These are the breeds that need to be socialized more, but it's hard when everyone thinks they're all evil because of a few stories that were reported. By the way in our community we had a child tore up by a pair of shitzus, should we ban them too?

Thanks, I see many kind pitbull remarks for a change. I have studied the pitbull for about 2 years now after the Vick case. I think I would love to have one. I live in a condo now but later. It has been my experience with bigger dogs however that you still have to use common sense. Don't let big dogs eat with small dogs. Don't leave cats with large dogs unattended nor young children.
And NEVER,never chain a dog.
