Hi everyone-

Was looking for some feedback on a new site I recently created, Petigree. Before diving into the details, I'd like to provide the motivation behind it first.

About four months ago, my girlfriend and I began our journey to welcome a puppy into our family. We started with the local shelters, but given her allergies and our obsession with Goldendoodles, we decided to find a breeder. Our experience was poor, to say the least. We were under the impression we'd secured a spot on a "reputable" breeder's waitlist because they were highly ranked on Google- WRONG. Market visibility does not translate to quality breeding, unfortunately.

That is why I created Petigree ( http://www.petigree.co ). The site aims to help future pet owners connect with responsible breeders. Our hope is that we can gain enough consumer traffic to force a significant portion of breeders to become part of the site and be held to higher expectations than the ones that are currently being set. An assumption that I've validated by talking with many potential puppy buyers is that there just isn't enough information and transparency into what is currently happening in the market- due in large part to the current solutions being so dated and profit-seeking. Yes, if you really want to find information regarding puppy mills, US breeding standards, etc. you can, but none of those pages/blogs/topics/articles have a high enough visibility to be seen by potential buyers.

As a side-note, we do plan on adding a rescue section eventually, but seeing as it is just currently me working on the site, I haven't been able to add that ability just yet.

Appreciate any and all feedback as to how I can help improve the industry, thanks!
