Mike,

Having known the Cordrays (and being able to call them "Aunt Jen & Uncle Dan" ;) We have shared many memories. Some of Jeff and some of other family members that have passed before I could remember, but never have I heard the story of Jeff and Jenny the way you have been able to put into words. You could not have nailed it any better than you have.

I have read your work before, but never have I been so touched on so many levels than I was while reading this story. You will have forever helped me put my life into prospective with not only my family, but my dear twin sister. THANK YOU.

Such an amazing story that brought back alot of memories and tears. I am so thankful that Obie was brought into Jenny's life and am proud of the effort and progress she has made with this beautiful horse. Mike's story depicts perfectly the struggles of a powerful mental disorder that effects so many lives and the healing powers of a horse. Thanks for writing such a wonderful story.

I've read this commentary three times now. I needed to do this ---
to carefully read each word and line to better feel and understand, the effect of Obie & Obie's birth experience on Jenny, & the connection between Obie and Jeff. Dan's purchase at the horse auction indeed was a wonderful thing!

A great skill, Mike, in bringing this heart-rending story together. In knowing the background, I can understand the connection and am happy that Jenny has shared her introspection with others through your column.

Thanks for writing this story - very inspirational and moving - I'd heard the story from Dan J, but I didn't understand the connection until reading in this column.
