You must not care about your son very much to put him around a pit bull killing machine.

you must be IGNORANT if you think that way of a pit bull. maybe before judging the breed you should stop being so blind and open up to one! if you raise them correctly with love disiplne and loyalty you will have a companion for life!

U should never leave ur kid alone with ANY dog, but I have 2 small kids and I trust my pit around them more then I do around my skiddish poodle mix.. judging a breed is like being racist towards a particular type of person.. helen kellers dog was a pit.. the "face" of dogs in WW1 was a pit.. german shepards have a more powerful jaw and bite then a pit. Boston terriers were once used for fighting.. "toy" dogs, labs, and golden retrievers are more inclined to bite then pits.. how bout we abuse and neglect ignorant people like those that jump to conclusions about pits and pit owners.

You must be an idiot! I have 6 pitbulls and 5 kids! I have never had a problem with the dogs biting anyone! As a matter of fact, before we had our pits, we had a boxer and we had to get rid of her because she did bite my kids! Don't blame the breed, blame the deed!

wow, I must say this is a controversial subject. However... I have been breeding pit bulls for 3 1/2 years now, many litters have come and go, bought and sold, raised and been around this breed alot. My husband and I have treated them all with decency, love and respect. Raised on an acre of land with plenty of fun and room and food, etc.
In my experience I have put 1 dog to sleep for randomly attacking another dog. BUT just today another one, visciously attacked my friend when she walked near the gate of the kennel. He jumped over the fence and her hand and bicep required 14 stitches. He wouldn't let go. Unpredictable dogs. I have a 6yr old daughter, a 1 and 1/2 yr old son and another one will be born in a month. I will no longer contribute to the growth of this breed of dog in the world. I am sorry to those who continue to believe that Pit bull's dont have something "chemically" wrong inside their brain. They really do snap and some screw goes loose one day. It doesn't matter how long you have the dog or how much you loved it.(reminds me of my bipolar mother) if she don't take her medicine... she does the same crazy random antics despite the fact I am her daughter and always treated her with love and respect. They can't help it. It's in the genetic code. Sorry pit lovers.

you call yourself a "pit breeder"?! I am sorry for your friend, i really am! it is horrible and i pray for a speedy recovery! BUT it is not just the bully breed! any dog, big, small or medium, at any time is capable of attacking someone or another animal! animals are similar to people theres bad ones in every bunch! but i love the breed and will continue to support it! and BTW I found a puppy for my son and we are all very happy!

I have 4 pitbulls and i have never had a problem with them biting or hurting anyone. They are loving and obey you on the dime. The male is a big baby 73pds of love he will climb in your lap which is almost an impossible task but he wants that love. They are haPPY to see u if you leave for 3 hrs or 15 mins. I just wish the people who or responsible for giving the breed a bad name and bad training could turn in to the dog and let the dog be their owner! JUSTIFIED!!!!They WATCH YOUR EVERY EXPression and do not want the master angry, they yeild even when they think that u think they have done wrong.

Can you afford vet bills ,quality food etc?

Not saying you can not but when people ask for a free/cheap dog they usually can not.

me and my husband are looking for a female pit...we have a male pit...we dont want her to breed her...she will be fixed if shes not already...but anyway...he's 10 months old...he's just a little baby...he's EXTREMELY lovable...we've NEVER had a problem out of him...he's seriously the best tempered dog i've ever had...(my mom has a chihuahua that snaps at just about everyone)...he's been around other dogs and SMALL children a LOT...he's never snapped at anyone...we bought him when he just a pup...the first person he acted like he really connected with was my five year old nephew...still to this day its like he really connects with kids...NO im not telling anyone to leave their child unatended with ANY dog...but i would recommend a pitbull to any family that was looking for a dog...i think it really depends on how a pitbull is raised and treated...you just have to know how to raise a pitbull and what kind of environments are best for them to be raised in...

I have had a female pit since she was 7 weeks old. My daughter and her are growing up together. My boys are a little older. They run with her, play ball with her, etc.. The dog sleeps with them actually on them literally. She is a lover through and through.. I trained her so well that I had a officer ask if he can keep her as he was driving by. I have trained faster than any other dog. I do not need to leash her and other dogs walk by and she does not budge. Kids jump on her, pull her tail sit on her, and she just licks them. I would have to say the best dog I have owned. I describe her as a pit in poodle skin....
