Here's why: Since Jan. 1, 2013, my take home pay has dropped around $80 a month due to the two percent increase in Society Security and my heath care premiums increasing $80 per month times 12 months year for a total of $960. The first school levy I voted for was in the seventies and it was for a so called badly needed " New Roof " , to my knowledge no new roof was ever installed but was patched here and there . This district waists more money than any other in the county . My expenses are also sky rocketing and with no increases in wages along with the mismanagement of district funds has also made my decision to " NOT " vote for the Brown Local Levy . People get out and vote as this is a special election in May . You know,,one of those elections where they try to sneek it through on a off time of the year .

Mr. Leyda,
All of the funds for Minerva's turf is being raised through private donations. Perhaps a committee could be formed in Malvern for a new track and, not only could you be a member of that committee, but you could also make a donation toward this project.

"You know, one of those elections where they try to sneek (it is spelled sneak) it through on a (an) off time of year"??? First of all, the money from the state is only available for so long. If the school district waited for a general election (one, I guess where EVERYONE votes???!!), the opportunity could be gone. Secondly, the levy committee has had a number of meetings for the public, which were advertised in the newspaper. They have passed out signs to put in yards, they have handed out literature with factual information regarding the levy and they have placemats in different businesses in the village. I am pretty sure no one is trying to "sneek" anything.
