That's because President Obama knows this:
There are now two polls showing that the GOP will get the blame if fiscal cliff negotiations between the freshly re-elected President Obama and House Republicans end in an across-the-board tax increase for all households.
The President has proposed an extension of only middle class tax cuts. Republicans, led by Speaker John Boehner, have thus far refused to accept the proposal without inclusion of tax cuts for the richest 2% of Americans and deep spending cuts to safety net programs like Social Security and Medicare.
The Washington Post/Pew Research poll in question shows Americans blaming Republicans more than Obama by a margin of 53%- 27%. Only 12% indicated that both parties should share equal fault.
This echoes the results of an earlier CNN/ORC poll which showed taxpayers blaming Republicans over Obama 45%-34%.
The new WaPo/Pew poll shows public opinion moving even more firmly in the Democrats’ favor after the release of relatively detailed proposals by both sides.

If I were a Republican, I would be very concerned about what the polls show...they ignored the last set and it didn't turn out too well for them.
The GOP may well get the blame, especially with the MSM and Media Matters running interference for Obama. The blame may come down on the GOP's heads, however the reality is, it is Obama's insane spending and lies that are creating the cliff. Obama could have stopped it 6 months ago, but today uses the same ploys of demanding what he knows can't ever happen.

Amazing that the republicans expect people to understand, why on earth the top 2% can't pay a bit more in taxes, especially when the proposed rates are way, way lower than what the rates were, say in the good old 1950-1960's....?
The 2% can pay more, but what about the 47%, can't they pay SOME.

Liberals are funny, in the Union, you can't have a choice, but as a women they demand it. It's all about controlling and buying votes and how much money you can launder.

Yes they were for this last election. If only 4 million hadn't stayed home, they would have been right. Wrong candidate again was picked for us.

Your phony Benghazi outrage failed to win the election – and continues to fail to distract America from the Republican party’s lies, failures and economic terrorism they’re inflicting on us all.
Have fun sucking on those facts for the next 4 years loser – then you can start whining, complaining and lying about President Clinton as she takes over from President Obama.
lol
Oh my, you think Benghazi is a fake. My my, the thirty saved and the four dead will be shocked to know that. When is your boy going to man up. Still flying in circles I see.

You are disgusting and vile. You should be ashamed of yourself for NOT expecting the truth about what happened to those men in Benghazi. Some American you are.

Your pathetic effort to generate phony outrage about a real tragedy and trying to exploit it for partisan political purposes has been noted – and rejected – for the absolute BS that it is. You are dismissed.
Your attempt to deflect for your messiah is duly noted and not rejected. It speaks to all of the kind of human ( I use the term loosely) you are. If the truth be revealed about Obama''s involvement, what would you or I have to lose, other than a defective fraud inhabiting the seat of POTUS. We all deserve better as a President and leader. Think about it.

So then you agree that taxation is theft ?
And you just want the proceeds of theft to be given to you?

Funny how libtard dems belly-ache about greed as though it's exclusive to the rich. You can be poor and greedy just as easily when you want to take what other people have.

You are not being genuine at all! I listened to Fox news after the election as well and Benghazi was most certainly brought up repeatedly by various hosts. Funny how the Huffington post lied about the Benghazi versus Hurricane Sandy coverage by Fox news as well. Sandy was covered by Fox since many of the hosts live where it hit. Liberal media sucks!
