Boehner blasted President Obama’s proposed $1.6 trillion in tax increases, while reminding reporters that he agreed to put revenues on the table three weeks ago as long as the White House offered compromise by way of budget cuts.

So far, Boehner’s indicates Republicans are not giving in to White House demands for more taxes.

Whether you republiscum care to admit it or not,the GOP's back is against the wall. Let all tax cuts expire - then Obama will put the requisite tax cuts back in place, and the GOP look like the POS they are. Negotiate, we still win, and Boehner may have a chance to be re-elected again, and still Obama wins.

You idiots have nothing to demand, and everything to loose.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney)-- President Obama's proposal to let the Bush tax cuts expire for top earners would hit only a tiny fraction of all small businesses, but it includes nearly 1 million companies that employ people.
That's according to an IRS study, which counted more than 20 million enterprises as small businesses
This preisdent will hurt MANY small businesses..........his economics knowledge is fk'd, and his spokesman Giethner is a known tax cheat.

Just the opposite.

Bush economics killed us. Gave us TARP. Gave us billions to Wall Street, like GoldmanSachs with no requirement for repayment.

If you look at recent real life examples, Clinton tax rates worked. Bush tax rates didn't.

Duh.! How hard is that for you to ignore? Gotta be tough. Head back in the sand FauxNews sheep.

An income tax was introduced during the Lincoln administration to subsidize the military during the Civil War. Shortly after the war officially ended, the tax was rescinded. Another income tax was introduced to pay for US troops in World War I. This time the federal government was so enamored of all this "free money" that it became law. Since then, a minimal tax has grown into a 17000 to 20000 page tome which is so complicated and contradictory that no two accountants can come up with the same conclusion using the same figures, or so it appears. The talking heads pass along bits of information largely based upon their political agendas. What it comes down to is a bigger chunk of the working person's income going in taxes while a plethora of conditions will ultimately protect the high rollers. Throw in Geithner's proposal to transfer the determination of the debt ceiling to the executive branch and we will soon be receiving a receipt for hours worked from our employers. In principle it's starting to remind me of the company towns in the coal mining areas. After the rent of a company house and the debt to the company store were satisfied, miners often had NO paycheck at all.

I just been trying to prepare by getting some cleared land ready to plow next Spring, only been using about 1/5 of what I got. I bought ten new layers and looking to get more.
Told my family to pack up and head home when the bottom falls out and we can work together to make it through what is inevitable, as my Grandparents did back in the thirties, got a feeling this is going to be much worse though.

In Calif, the State Dem Party determined that the State Dem voting majority were so stupid that they could get them to vote for Taxation Without Representation for ALL Democratic voting families who aren't Govt funded Employees.
On Nov 6th, the CA Dem voters actually used their own majority to Vote FOR Taxation Without Representation for all businesses and workers in the private sector, including their OWN families. The State Dem Party leadership are still laughing.
On the same day Dem voters they gave the Union Operatives who pretend to be Democrats at election time a full 2/3's majority in the Legislature. With unfunded CA Union pension bonanzas approaching $1 TRILLION, the families of the majority of Dem voters won't stand a chance.
Watch out. Democrat on Democrat Extortion is a trend that is coming your way. Before you ignore the Union label on your Dem pols you better ask them if they are Pro Union or Union Owned. Before it is too late and PA families become nothing more than slaves to the Devils Partnership.
Now they just put through that millionaires tax in CA so now the rich will all leave CA and the $1 trillion in unpaid for government pensions is all going to collapse. Brown is so desperate that he has a bill he is trying to pass to force people working in the private sector to pay into the government employees' pension fund cause it only makes less than one percent a year but it promised it could and would make 7 percent a year. Plus, the state and local government employees pay in anywhere from zero to 7 percent into their pensions, then they get 90 percent of their salaries in pensions. If you pay in 7 percent for 25-30 years and then you take out 90 percent for 25-30 years retired, OMG, of course it is bankrupt and has $1 trillion in unfunded liabilities. Instead of them getting a 401K, they are in unions so they were able to get 90 percent of their salaries for life and a cost of living increase of about 10 percent every year. So what they do is create new taxes and raise current taxes in order to give out that money.

They know that it comes from tax money. I have a neighbor here who is on a big state pension and she said that the governor has to raise taxes and she also said that Obama HAS to borrow $1 trillion a year every year and give money to the states, so that tells you she knows her pension is coming from tax money, not from money she paid in. At the rate of 7 percent in, 90 percent out, of course they know it's all about raising taxes so they can live fat.

What is going to end all of this is once they retire they no longer contribute to the Dems' campaigns. So soon the Dems will be paying out ALL state and local tax money to government retirees who do not give them one cent in campaign contributions. That is what will end those big pensions.

Excellent move by the President.
Now, repubs are forced to come back with their response specifically stating what they want to cut...instead of demanding the President state the cuts repubs are afraid to state themselves.
Repubs wants the cuts in social programs...than state your proposal. And do include farm subsidies/gov guarantees.

Come back once you've payed it down to protect our kids futures. Then you can start your whining. Otherwise just PHONY concern.

He couldn't figure out Turbo Tax, he didn't even pay his own taxes. When he told the Chinese all is well here, they laughed out loud at him. He just lets the Fed do QE to infinity. Yahoo. Once China and Russia shove the dollar off of being the world's reserve currency which is coming soon, we can no longer print up money, monetize our debt. yahoo. No more fake money to hand out, the country collapses, defaults on the debt. Calling him an economist is a big huge stretch. Ron Paul is an economist. End the Fed, stop running up debt, default and get it over with. Get rid of all QE crapola and when the bubbles burst the Fed created, let the business cycle complete rather than borrowing more money and creating another bubble. Geitner's idea of economics is just bubble after bubble and borrowing money to default. Yahoo!!

The Dems' idea of economics is "when you are broke and can't pay for anything, just keep borrowing more money." And it never stops, 12 years, no GDP growth, 11 trillion more borrowed, no lower unemployment, more people on welfare, borrow more and hope to Christ someday their policies stop.

The end of cheap oil ended any future GDP growth for any country, so Kenysian economics is dead. You can no longer borrow based on future growth. The future is here, it's no more cheap oil and no more growth. The future is borrow until you default, and in the meantime, have another 7 million people go onto disability and have another 20 million drop out of high school and pile onto welfare. Yahoo, borrow until you can't borrow anymore, borrow money until the interest payment hits $1 trillion per year, default and don't ever elect one Dem ever again. What a plan.

Actually that is the GOP TEA Party RINO Plan.

Democratic liberal policy: You spend, you tax.

Libertarian conservative policy: cut spending, cut taxes.

GOP TEA Party RINOs phony conservative policy: SAY you are against spending, but spend like a drunken sailor and cut taxes. borrow to pay down the debt.

Nice try casting that label on the Dems, though. But we all know they spend and tax.

I care about our children's future which is why I voted for the man who has the political courage to let the Bush tax cuts expire in order to pay down the Bush GOP war debt.

YOU on the other hand voted for a RINO who would spend us again into debt, and cut taxes at the same time.....resurrecting the same Bush policies that put us where we are.

Even the Democrats are not stupid enough to keep spending money we don't have like they reside on fantasy island. Blame the Republians. They will blame them anyway, but make those stupid people that voted him back in pay for their stupiity. Make them suffer along with the restof America. Don't give him another dime.
