You don't know squat about math, either...
Let's see:
3 of 87 vs. 1 of 13....Hmmm...
Yes, you take 100 black people and a group of 100 white people, and the black group will have a higher dropout rate. I get that. Let it go.

The point is, out of a standard race-representative group of 100 people there will be 3 white dropouts and 1 black dropout while 96% of the group hold high-school diplomas.

That 1 black person in the group doesn't justify claiming that black people need "black jobs" because of their higher dropout rate. The numbers don't support the premise.

No, it's NOT an intelligent post. Did you understand the response at all?
I understood the math. I understood percentages. I understood the concept.
It made sense to me.

I don't know where this black jobs thing came from and I don't care.
Since someone wants to try and quote statistics about high school dropout take a read.

Did you look at the difference in the TOTALS in the dropout rate for the U.S.? It's significant. Aren't we talking about the U.S. as a whole?

I used Georgia numbers from the Digest of Education Statistics for the year 2012.

I used your link. Why wouldn't you look at the TOTAL? Why just GA? I didn't get the impression that we were just posting about GA.

Don't think, you weaken the team.

It's also way above your comprehension level.

I see a new trend here. It was only a few days ago we just went through almost the same thing with someone else. These people seem to be somewhat intelligent with a decent education. They are throwing out numbers which are correct and using them to prove their point. The problem is that they use these numbers without taking into account any other factors such as population size of a certain group of people. They do not factor in any kind of what these numbers are a part of.
Such as whites get more welfare than blacks but the size of the white population and black population is not taken into account. This is where a simple tenth grade statistical graph comes in. You use percentages to show the actual portion of each race of people compared to those drawing welfare. That is using percentage which show the true figures.
I am thinking that these people that are now spewing out all these numbers know better. They are trying to skew the facts with figures thinking that the average Topix reader will not know the difference. They are trying to use smoke and mirrors to prove their unprovable points. They claim to be well educated and might very well be, but if they are then why all the problems giving the percentages which show the actual true picture? I feel it is just another ploy being used by the left to try to persuade those that do not know any better. If that is the case how desperate are these people to prove a unreal point of thought?

Percentages and statistics don't mean a thing if your understanding of math is limited to calculating "mo". And we have so many people who only know how to demand mo. There's no such thing as a percentage of mo.

The real issue for discussion should be the total number of people on welfare, and what can be done to reduce that number. Any other "discussion" is just another blame game.

IMHO, the VAST majority of the time, anyone coming on Topix to learn something (particularly about political related topics, including taxes) is wasting their time. There are too many subjective posts and threads, not as many objective threads. There are some decent, information providing threads, but not many.

As I've posted MANY times, do your own research, don't rely on people on an anonymous board, unless you know those people. Then verify the information for yourself...

You are correct but the vast majority of Americans don't seem to have the time or are to lazy to check things out for themselves. They are more interested in who is winning American Idol and believe me the left knows this all to well.
It is a fact that most people get their news from TV and rarely read articles on the Web or elsewhere. I have read that there is a new trend for people getting more of their news online.
Therefore I do think it is necessary for actual facts to be brought to light in any type of forum. Who knows we just might enlighten one poor soul at a time, but that is showing some progress.

Good Lord you raging Idjit! It absolutely took into account population percentages by race and I laid out the math a clear as day for you to see! How freakin' dense can you be?

Not only is the point provable, it's been proven! No smoke and mirrors, I laid out the math right in front of you.
You're unbelievably both paranoid and stupid. And you say you're not a Republican. HA!

In the late 90s construction teams in Atlanta were loaded with black people. By 2002 the same jobs were dominated by Hispanic people. And yes, I am saying that black Americans by and large occupy the lower tier of employment in the nation. I never said they ALL do, but the peasants are clearly taking all of the lowest tier jobs forst. In a generation or two they will be taking higher tiers of jobs, but they'll be "Americans" by then and nobody will be able to complain about it legally.
At the moment I can't imagine that you think white people give a crap about the job prospects for black Americans. But again, I don't want to see illegal Swedes taking jobs from Americans either no matter what color the Americans happen to be.
As for dropout rates, those seem to be a moving target depending on where you look. This site http://boostup.org/en/facts/statistics#nation... says we're at 25% nationally and that black dropouts are over 40%(very close to Hispanic students actually) while it's just over 20% for white students.
I'd like to see where you come by 8%. And I'd like to know how you figure black Americans have not been disproportionately affected by the influx of illegal invaders crossing the border. Even the leftist Huffington Post has pointed this out a number of times.
Grobbbbbbbbb
Fuess you are right about a lot of things. Especially about the illegal aliens taking jobs. I just read this and the black community is actually starting to see the light.

Obama doesn't give a rats *ss about blacks nor anyone else. Before, he was all about pandering to anyone who would listen in order to get their votes. NOW, his focus is the history books. He wants his legacy to be praised more than anyone elses in the world, past or future. His textbook narcissism is incredibly obvious. An acorn could figure THAT out. He wants to go down in history as the one true GOD of the world. The sad thing is that the Democrats, particularly the liberal Democrats, actually believe he is.

Exactly. They are not people with a differing viewpoint, humans and members of your community - they are obamabots. Evil beings worthy only of derision. Hate them. Use hate-speech, it makes it easier.

And you talk about "programming". Talk about the irony. Karl Rove is high-fiving Charles Koch for a propaganda-job well done every time they read one your posts.

Your first sentence is the most honest thing you've posted lately.

The rest of your post is typical hate filled liberal programming. How often do you have to get your batteries changed?:)
