House votes to derail Obamacare, fund government

The GOP-controlled House voted Friday to cripple President Barack Obama's health care law as part of a risky ploy that threatens a partial shutdown of the government in a week and a half.

Yes it was announced on Obama phones. They just can't pay for it
And fatty and the teabagging cons can't touch that. Implimentation of ACA is unaffected by any shutdown.

Here's a novel idea: PAY FOR YOUR OWN DAMNED HEALTH CARE.
I'm sick to death of lefties going thru twists and contortions to disguise what they really want--
They want the gubbermint to pay for their housing, so they have Section 8.
They want taxpayers to pay for their groceries, so they have EBT cards.
They want somebody else to pay for their kids' lunches. Then after they have that, they want us to pay for their kids' breakfasts. Then summer vacation food.
On and on and on.
Want to know the solution to the whole problem? IF YOU DON'T PAY FOR YOUR HEALTH CARE, YOU DON'T GET HEALTH CARE. You don't show up at the ER and expect somebody to take care of you. I don't go to a car dealership without a bank account and expect a car.
You would be surprised how many people who don't have health insurance or health savings accounts would get them if they knew they wouldn't get help if they didn't.
Who knows-- a few lefties might forego that extra six-pack every weekend and put money aside for a rainy day?
What am I thinking. Lefties don't do that. As soon as the weather gets cloudy, the hand goes out.
Exactly. I've ran into more financial difficulty trying to pay health INSURANCE premiums than paying off medical events.

If people realized how much they actually pay in health insurance premiums compared to what medical procedures and visits costs I think many would pay out of pocket per medical event. Part of the problem are greedy insurance companies AND health providers that have voluntarily chose to make INSURANCE the preferred form of payment. Too many patients have developed an unwieldy sense of entitlement when it comes to medical insurance/benefits. INSURANCE is for catastrophic events and not routine maintenance.

A better solution to the health care problem is you becoming extinct.

You shouldn't get all uppity with the people that pay the bills.

I should be able to expect a hummer from parasites like you in exchange for health care. You want me to pay for your exam? I want some skull.

Get busy.

People with insurance pay a lower amount for medical services than someone that doesn't have insurance. The Doctor/Hospital agrees to accept insurance and charge for services but the insurance company sets the rates they are allowed to charge. If you have ever looked at an EOB from an insurance company you would know this. The problems we have with medical costs is if the Doctor can charge 960.00 for an ER visit with a CT scan and make a profit with insurance agreements, why would they charge someone with no insurance 3600.00 for the same services?

How many more people must lose their jobs or have their hours cut back to 29 because of Obamacare? And the real pain has not even started yet. Obamacare taxes kick in in January. Premiums will go up in many states and in other states insurance companies are pulling out. Just further loss of income for the middle class. Those who are financially hurt can thank a liberal for this economic train wreck.

You are a liar and / or an ignoramus. I have no insurance. I always pay cash. I always get a much better rate than those who pay either through an insurance carrier, Medicaid or Medicare. Call up a few docs and ask for prices with and without insurance. Stop lying to others and spreading your ignorance.

I'll give it to you straight from my latest EOB from my insurance carrier.

"The amount your doctor or health care provider billed for services $1,210.00"
"The agreed upon amount your doctor or health care provider in our network accepts as their fee $425.75"

If I didn't have insurance it would have cost over $1200 dollars for something they can make a profit off of for only $425 with insurance.

It sucks to be you proxy troll.

You have to be one of the stupidest posters on this forum. Why don't you again read what the poster wrote and then try to understand if your response was or was not non-sequitur.

You are not even smart enough to understand the invoice that the hospital gave you much less understand the fee structure.

The poster is correct. Medical providers will almost always charge less for someone who does not have insurance. This is why the first question they ask is do you have insurance. Like most liberals you fancy yourself smarter than everyone else but in the end you are the last one to get the memo.

Not necessarily will a service be billed to a self pay customer for an insurance customer based price. For starters a lot of health care provider billing is robo billing and/or see what you can get away with billing. If you make it clear you don't have insurance and agree to a price PRIOR many providers will give you a cash discount-I've done it. This must be done upfront and not after the fact.

INSURANCE is the cause for health care provider inflation simply because they know a third party will be paying. One thing anyway under Obama Care is that if the provider accepts Medicare/Medicaid/government subsidies they must make discounted services available. SOME hospital chains & practices will sell/bill you a service close to cost in many cases. The mark ups can be as high as 500% to 1000%.

In many geographic areas where there is actual competition you can get a cash MRI at 300-500 dollars yet if you have insurance it will cost 3000-5000 dollars. Point is never confuse insurance based pricing with actual cost or profit. Many hospital chains/groups even keep two sets of records for billed services basically for what they wanted and what they got. It's not accounts due either. And many of those same hospitals are breaking even, not by much but if nothing else they are not "bleeding" the money they lead you to believe.

Try to keep up now, go back and read my first post on this issue. If they can make a profit on the agreed upon amount, why do they charge 3 times that amount to start with? It's not the insurance company charging that amount, it's the doctor or health care provider. The problem starts with them.

BTW, an EOB does not come from the hospital or doctor. It comes from your insurance provider. You know what EOB means, right? If you have insurance you do. It's an Explanation Of Benefits, fool.
