IRS: Some stimulus checks sent to wrong accounts

This is our first year filing we thought something might be wrong when we only got 600 but wernt sure if we should complain.

Must be a Connecticut "disconnect" if you know what I mean. Or in plain english another scam to defraud the good people of Connecticut. To educate where needed....... when Our Governor Jodi Rell got caught lying to our legislature and citizenry in 2008 all it took was to claim, by the gov, that there was a "disconnect" and abbbrah cadabra presto there is no offense to the public or it's decency.

The Executive branch is the one that handles the cutting and mailing of checks or direct deposit. The only oversight that can be done would be AFTER a screw up (as so often happens). My point was, don't blame this on the Libs, its the Con's that screwed up again.

Interestingly, I have not yet received my stimulus payment, which was supposed to be directly deposited into my account a week ago. My question is--since they're depositing some money into the 15,000 wrong accounts, doesn't it mean that 15,000 people aren't getting their checks?

All the checks have not been sent out yet according to what I read so sit tight they are sending them out in some kind of sequence you can find the schedule online

becareful of an email scam saying that they will do a direct deposit of 1800 into your checking account...Looks very official, but just remember to never give your personal info in an email, to anyone

I'm one of the people who was affected by this error. I was hoping to get the money yesterday, and it didn't show up. I even bounced a check because of it. It's my fault, and I accept all responsibility. It reminds me of the movie Animal House when Flounder was asking what to say to his brother about the wrecked car, "Tell him you (bleep)ed up - you trusted us".

[Rebate not Received]

I was supposed to receive my rebate on the 9th of May. I filed direct deposit and everything. Here is a little bit of a warning, if you filed with H&R Block's online program and filed it direct deposit and chose to have your fee's deducted out of your refund, you will not get your rebate as prescribed by the IRS. You will have to wait until the paper checks are sent out. H&R Block said that because that account gets closed once they receive their fee's, it gets bounced back to the IRS and then they have to send you the papercheck.
