What is the IRS going to do about the 15,000 Stimulus checks sent to wrong accounts? Is the IRS resending the checks to the correct accounts/taxpayers.

I have it under "good authority" from a "deep Black Op's" contact all the wayward checks have gone to members of Congress!

First of all I know alot of IRS employees who are working with the Economic Stimulus Payment. It is extremly shocking the amount of people who decide to move and never update there address with the IRS. In addition believe it or not thousands of americans were putting down the wrong bank information on there returns even though it's pretty clear where the information should go. While this article is good it does not address the biggest IRS error which is simply human error on both parts.

Go ahead, be a smart a&& and spend it without saying anything and see where you wind up. If the IRS mistakenly puts money in your account, don't you think they know where it went and will want it back? They will require you to give it back. If you've spent it and can't afford to pay it back they will with hold refunds you may get next year plus tack on interest and penalties. This mess could cost you more than you got! So, go ahead and play wiseguy with the IRS and see where it gets you.

Brilliant!They may screw up to 'their' benefit; but never to yours. I'd say return any gov't cash-they'll not only take the money but you'll be a penalty-there is nothing 'stimulating' about that.
