Survey: Many conflicted on government spending cuts

Mar 9, 2013 Full story: WJLA-TV Arlington 10

As President Barack Obama and lawmakers spar over huge federal deficits, they're confronted by a classic contradiction: Most Americans want government austerity, a survey shows, but they also want increased spending on a host of popular programs: education, crime fighting, health care, Social Security, the environment and more.

Complicity.
The President wants no spending cuts.
All Congressional Democrats want no spending cuts.
Some Congressional Republicans want no spending cuts.
The Media wants what the President and Congressional Democrats want, which means no spending cuts.
The Media doesn't even look at the massive debt we are putting together and say, out loud, "What are we doing?" And "Why CAN"T we cut first and see where that takes us?"
The Media can't even SAY that it is not an actual cut, it is a cut in the increase. Why can't they say what it IS?
What a sad time we live in, when the Media does the bidding for one man and one party.
$22 trillion by 2017.

We could have had all that if Obama would quit spending Billions on needless programs that go bankrupt.

Yeah, like trying to pay for the two unfunded wars Shrub started. You do remember Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz claiming that Iraqi oil would pay for the war and reconstuction. You do see the light, now don't you?

Does that justify the act of giving millions of illegals Welfare, foodstamps&medicai d? Not to mention free cell phones. He's added trillions to the debt already, when he said it was unpatriotic when Bush did it. He hasn't cut the deficit ever. Just keeps spending like he's a drunken sailor.

RE: Survey: Many conflicted on government spending cuts
..... Proper timing is essential! While there is a recession it is necessary for governments to spend a lot to compensate in part for the then insufficient spending by the non-government sectors. piling up (massive?) deficits with increasing debt.
..... But the recession is now over, as shown by recent decreasing unemployment numbers, and that means that it's time for considerable reduction of government spending, plus time for increasing taxes NOW, so as to convert the perennial deficits into (massive?) surpluses that are to be used to reduce the debts, not to increase government spending.

"Survey: Many conflicted on government spending cuts"
...and that's why the budget ain't gonna get balanced anytime soon. When your own constituents don't want really it, why will ANY politicians bother?
