The House in about 15 months
So what? From my perspective America is turning totalitarian. At some point nasty people will run for office with "the answers" and garner votes. They will use the laws already enacted and being used against Americans now. Only to an extreme. There has been a progression of warnings from people for many years. We vote ourselves goodies claiming that is freedom and equality in our diverse, multi cultural, politically correct culture. You can't hide the massive debts being accumulated without paying for all of these things forever. We have high inflation now in many things we do to live. Many people have not felt it yet. But many have and many more will. So the progressives will not fix anything in 15 months if elected. For their answers are to take from the working class what they can to give to others. all the while screaming at the rich for not paying their share and who knows, maybe this time they will get a lot of taxes out of them. But it won't much to fix our problems. So tell me how you will fix everything. Winning and doing good are two different things.

If Republicans fail to do well in next years elections, it will be because the party is broken. Many voters have left the party. If they can't compromise and get along with each other, how would anyone expect them to work across the aisle and improve our democracy? We have a failed government right now and I doubt even Hillary could fix the mess of this democrat administration. Besides, I doubt she is up for the task when her handling of Benghazi seems to be about "What difference does it make" comment. So I urge the tea party to not make so many threats to shut down government but come up with fixes that all Republicans can agree on and work with democrats to make it happen. Right now I don't see a lot of hope for the country because I don't see much hope for the Republicans to get their stuff together. We need a strong but smaller government. One that can act on the fact that they are one of us and are required by the Constitution not to pass laws they have no intention on abiding by themselves.
As The Weeper of the House has proclaimed - do not judge them by the number of laws they pass, judge them by the number of laws they repeal.

Which, in either case, is a big, fat ZERO !!!!!!!!!!

Very good, Mitt, you may eventually start to realize the damage your erstwhile comrades on the radical Right are doing to this country.

Who says you can't teach a waffling Republican new tricks?:)

False. Romney worked in an industry where he DESTROYED jobs to make money, and has never been in Obama's current position.

Presidents don't create jobs in any case.

obama will get his way and will just threaten that a shutdown would stop the SS and VA benefits like he threatened last time he thought he wouldn't get his way. mind you his threat last time only threatened SS and VA. NOT food stamps, welfare, section 8, medicaid, unemployment payments. even he knows he can't crap on his voter base, but seniors and veterans are fair game. just wait for it, he'll trop the same threat out again.
Obama isn't threatening the shutdown, genius, House Republicans are. It's THEY who want "their way," and THEY who want to shut down welfare, etc.

How about those classic electioneering photo ops?.....Like buying up sacks of grocerys at the Target, then handing them out to supporters, so it would look like they were all donating them, to the cause of showing concern about Sandy victims.....Cecille B.DeMille, could'nt have done better...lol...

Just so you know. President Obama does not shut down the government. Congress does. Congress wants the president to repeal Obamacare. If he does not comply with their wishes the republicans in the house won't vote to fund the government. The president is not going to repeal Obamacare. President Obama is not threatening to do anything. President Obama is making Americans aware of the Hose republicans plan.
Looks like those republicants want to hose the system! LOLL

You bagger nuts have memory deficit disorder.

December 6, 2002, the Bush Administration fired its top two economic advisers: Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill and White House economic adviser Lawrence Lindsey due to the continuing lagging economy.

O'Neill, a "deficit hawk", tried to warn Vice President Dick Cheney that growing budget deficits posed a threat to the economy. Cheney cut him off, saying, "You know, Paul, Reagan proved deficits don't matter."

Reagan or Cheney deficits don't matter to them - Obama deficits are a sure sign of the Apocalypse. ;)

Fencewalkers that are new to this site. Please defend yourselves. Have your opinions but read what the pure progressives write. Yes people from the right do some of the same. But take care of yourselves. the reality is the left has controlled the nation for decades. There is no real conservatism. Just demonizing of it. Most republicans in office are RINOS/NEO CONS. Look, Rubio of Florida sold out. He will vote so called conservative for now on, but the immigration issue moves the nation to the left. It is designed that way. Another so called conservative will vote for another issue that moves the nation to the left and will vote conservative on everything else. The votes will always be close or win handily to become law and whe they re up for another term they will spew the good they did. Elitists control us. whether you are for or against one party. They will change the rules themselves when the entrenchment is bad enough in a real declining economy.
