The GOP's worst 'cliff' myth

Dec 24, 2012 Full story: The Washington Post 204

Perhaps the oddest of the conservative rationalizations for refusing any kind of budget compromise is the insistence that budget deals are pointless - and maybe even counterproductive - because Democrats rig them such that the taxes are real and spending cuts are illusory.

Post #145 is another in a string by poster McGruff making false claims and blustering. It may safely be disregarded.

What are you yapping about. I am merely facing the dismal reality that those who HATE America and our kids out numbered those who appreciate our Country and love our kids this last election. Did you hear that REID today? He proved we a Nation of pitiful losers. So sad.
It is sad that you're such a pitiful loser. Not all of us are, however.

<quoted text> all goverment spending is a TAX. A tax to be paid by the productive. or in the case of borrowed money a tax to be paid by some future producer. If your money comes from the goverment coffers you never really pay taxes. becuse whatever taxes you pay comes from money already taxed (robbed) away from some productive maker. Its like getting $10 free and paying a $1 handling fee.
LOL...after that first sentence, I don't think I need to bother with you anymore. Anyone who thinks spending is a tax isn't playing with the full deck.:)

All goverement spending is indeed a Tax. A tax to be paid by todays producers or in the case of borrowed money the futures producers. In their decision affirming the health care act the US supreme court ruled it was a tax.

Sign...once again, the "tax" ruling had to do with FINES imposed on those without health insurance. That was Roberts' justification for voting to uphold the ACA.

What's so hard about this for righties to grasp? Or are they all just dishonest?

I don't have post numbers. Don't know what you are talking about.

If I lied then you wouldn't have any problem proving that I did. You can't so I didn't.

no it wasn't. It was ruled a tax for the penalty to individuals who refuse to purchase insurance. You lie. It don't help your cause because you and a few nuts are all that believe what you say

The Bush era tax cuts are about to expire because the Democrats insisted on a two year sunset clause.

It's win/win for the Democrats...they get extra tax money to waste and get to blame the Republicans for the tax hike.

How many times are the Republicans going to fall for the "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today" ploy?

Until we get rid of the ones so stupid that they prefer to stay on the DC party list than to do what they were elected to do. It matters a whit that some are called liberal and some are called republicans, both lost what proud heritage they once had for the greed that motivates Washington through lobbist.

Well, you can rest easy knowing the 53% that pay 100% of the taxes will be paying more.
That is only if the Conservatards hold out for the rich. If they give it up and start thinking about the little guy, the working folks, everything will be fine.

You know that there were something like 3,000 folks that made anywhere from 500K to over a million in the 47% that Mitt spoke down to.

LMAO at you, AFTER he passed what at the time was the largest tax cuts in American history. The tax increases that followed still left taxes substantially lower than under Carter. Talk about cherry picking to try to make a point.
Reagan closed loopholes and raised taxes after he saw the deficit would be out of control from the original tax cuts. My statement is correct. He did cut tax rates, then he raised them.

When Obama spoke of fixing loopholes the Conservatards went nuts. Why?
