The GOP's worst 'cliff' myth

There are 204 comments on the The Washington Post story from Dec 24, 2012, titled The GOP's worst 'cliff' myth. In it, The Washington Post reports that:

Perhaps the oddest of the conservative rationalizations for refusing any kind of budget compromise is the insistence that budget deals are pointless - and maybe even counterproductive - because Democrats rig them such that the taxes are real and spending cuts are illusory.

Obama doesn't agree with you. He extended the Bush tax cuts during a recession.
When the Republicans came forward and said no deal UNLESS the rich get the tax rate extension, yea he had no choice. The Rethuglians were only concerned with getting the Rich the same tax rate, they would have been happy to let them expire on everyone to get it too.

Way to go, your supporting the folks that could care less about the working folks.

We are still waiting on the job creators myth to actually happen too.

You know that there were something like 3,000 folks that made anywhere from 500K to over a million in the 47% that Mitt spoke down to.
Yes and if Obama's plan is accepted, it will fund the government for 8 days. He spends that much on golf, vacation and fuel.

French courts through out the tax the rich because it was not equal representation and not equal to all citizens. We should take heed.

Prove it maggot, since your party was in control for six years.

You loons love to assume acceptance, but not to sane people, but only to each other. You remind me of a group of monkeys taking turns picking fleas off of each other and eating them.

The trouble is its both party,s. The middle class producing & manufacturing jobs are indeed gone. A big part of the reason for the job loss was high production cost. now the us companys for many decades could compete with the wage disparity between us workers & third world places. So lets not place a lot of blame on unions. The higher cost of US labor was offset by the cost of foriegn goods shipping & tarriffs. When costly environmemtal laws and free trade agreements where passed and enacted (by both party,s) the Exidious began. Those who couldnt or wouldnt relocate to other countries went out of buisness. Why would out elected officials from both GOP & DEM partys do this to the US working class? I believe the answer is That the UN and NWO thinks the US middle class when compared to the rest of the world had much more than thier fair share. So the politicians who really only care about enriching themselves and furthuring the UN & NWO order are bought off or are misguided. Those political parasites voted for job killing legislation on puropse. Now that they completed that task & have robbed and redistrubuted the middle classes jobs & wealth. They are now going after those who are the so called rich and promoting class warfare. There doing the same tried & successful fair share arguement again. At the same time giving themselves huge pay raises. Never telling you that even if they tax & rob the rich at 100% they still wouldnt have enough money to fund the wasteful goverment spending. Why isnt the congress really addressing the jobs issue? Why dont they really do something about the illegal workers? Why dont they do something about the trade imbalance? Quit being a sheeple its not GOP=BAD or DEM =good its GOP+DEM = political parasite= BAD

More feeble lies and mischaracterizations from poster McGruff which may be safely ignored. He repeats what is posted to him, then calls it a "lie," strangely. What a feeble poster.

Everything he says is true. It's up to you to DISPROVE, since you object. How about trying that for the first time in your career here, Jimbo?

My guess is you'll either spew a few more insults, or post an off-topic cut n' paste. That's what you usually do when flustered.

Lets see,,,carry the one, minus the addition sign and wallah!

I really doubt that..My insurance has gon up from around $50 a week to around $95. My prescriptions have gone up an equal amount...This is only my contribution to my employer supplied insurance. We've already been told to get ready for more increases..If yours has not gone up, it's because, either you are lying, you're not paying attention, or you are already on government healthcare.

I'm working and as I said my rates didn't increase this year. My RX is free if it's generic. Maybe your employer is passing imaginative costs to you so they can have a bigger bonus?

What you're saying is that you have one of those "Cadilac" ans that Obama promised to tax in order to help pay for everybody elses...

I'll also guess that you are youngeer that thirty...You RX is free if greneric..Do you have any idea how many madicines are not Generic? I thought not.

As far as passing on the costs...That is what they are doing..The insurance premiums have gone up, but the employer cost went up more than the employee share... If you really think insurance are not going to increase..I invite you to look into insurance premiums, and copays across the country...Do not just sit there and stick to what you "THINK" is true. Research it, don't take my word for it.

My rates did'nt increase either--------What we may have here, is much the same as what Goebbels accomplished with the Nazi propaganda machine, blaming a group(jews) for the country's problems, then dictating that they were the enemy of the good people......Much like Fox and the far right, and the work the wealthy corporate minipulators can do with their House tea party republicans.....

My rates increased just like they have every year since I've had insurance. I can remember only a few times back in the early 80's that it didn't increase each year. It has nothing to do with the new health care law. My co-pays stayed the same and my prescription costs remained the same. If your being asked to pay more, its a cost savings for your employer. They keep the same plans but you pay in more and they pay less.

More myths from the right wingers. Don't they realize the scare tactics and fear mongering are the reason the Repugs keep losing elections? Your strategy is a losing one..lol.
