Yes they did. They held super majorities in both Houses of Congress. Republicans were powerless to stop them because they simply didn't have enough votes. That's how we got Obamacare, remember?Democrats alone did not have the power to "double" anything
And in case you forgot your 7th grade civics lesson, Congress alone has the authority to borrow money against the credit of the U.S., and thus increase the national debt. Read Article 1 Section 8.
Bullshit. When Republicans controlled Congress they had those same bills to pay, yet managed to do it while borrowing $325 billion per year. As soon as Democrats regained control of Congress after the 2006 elections, they quadrupled that amount to $1.4 billion per year. You have google. Look it up for yourself. It's a fact. Same bills to pay, plus another $1 trillion spent on Democrat pet socialist projects like African Penis Washing programs and Cowboy Art Festivals.and the major reason our debt has in creased sharply is, of course, the combination of the Bush tax cuts and military spending
What??? More complete and utter bullshit. Republicans haven't opposed any Democrat budgets because they haven't put any on the table. The ONLY budgets that came up for a vote in the Senate in the last 3 years have been the two jokes that Obama proposed, neither of which got even a single favorable vote. Not even one Democrat voted in favor of them. Even if every Republican in the Senate had voted in favor, they both still would have been defeated by the Democrats themselves.True, and that's at least partially true because of Republican opposition.
Face it, Senate Democrats have violated the law by failing to enact a budget. They haven't even tried. They passed a hugely bloated budget 4 long years ago, and don't want to pass another because they can use the old one as their baseline spending on all of the continuing resoultions. If they passed another budget, they wouldn't be able to run over $1 trillion deficits year after year.
It's not the fault of both parties that no budget has been passed. The House Republicans have done their job. Like I told you, they have passed budget bills every single year they have controlled the House. The fault lies with the Senate Democrats who have refused to bring any of those budget bills up for discussion and a vote, nor have they offered any budget bills of their own.At least you admit it was Congress, both parties, and not Obama responsible for this.
It's not an obsession, it's a fact. And it's a fact they you are running away from. You can't bring yourself to admit that Democrats are responsible for royally f*cking up our economy and driving us into bankruptcy.See above, and your continued obsession with the budget is noted.
