Here is a little food for thought,
assuming if course the ability.

Back in the '70's i had registered as a Republican, an action taken in response to the surreality being injected into the process by the far left. Currently, with the far right enveloped in a surrealist fog, just as their hippie left role models from the 60's the only sane pace is outside the GOP.
As a party member and having worked for Ford in'76 I got to meet Jack Kemp, he had even given me an autographed copy of 'An American renaissance'.
Qotes from Jack Kemp on deficit reduction.

"Everyone agrees spending restraint is desirable...But spending reductions require both a strong economy and some fundamental long term plans in order to sustain the required support."...Pg 83-84

"There is however however a (tax) rate that allows the government maximum revenue...a rate that is right for time and national circumstance...A nation at war will produce when tax rates are quite high."pg.51

..."I oppose a constitutional amendment which would mandate a balanced budget"...Pg.83

Pentagon informs Congress of plans to furlough 800K civilians

By Jeremy Herb - 02/20/13 11:16 AM ET
The Pentagon notified Congress on Wednesday it will be furloughing its civilian workforce of 800,000 employees if sequestration goes into effect March 1.

Defense officials have warned lawmakers that sequestration will devastate the military and lead to a hollow force, but the civilian furloughs will be one of the first major impacts felt by the across-the-board cuts.

Thank you for admitting the Dems will NEVER support significant cuts to spending.
You/they will continue to claim the economy would suffer, even after another 50 years of trillion dollar deficits and the national debt is over $100 TRILLION.
Dems will NEVER support significant cuts to spending- EVER.
Thanks for confirming what was obvious all along - that you believe Dems and spending are "to blame for our problems" and that you will NEVER accept any other answer, no matter how it's presented.

You're dishonest, and your credibility is now SHOT. So long.

There never was an "Obama plan for sequester." The plan was not his, and was voted into being by Congress, especially by Republicans who wanted it out there as a kind of 'poison pill' to push spending cuts.

IF Obama was to blame at all, it was for letting it become law. That, I admit, was foolish. Spending cuts now would be a horrific mistake.

As is voting Republican, of course.

No, I believe BOTH parties are responsible for spending more than we take in through various revenue sources. And I blame the American sheeple for not taking responsibility for the mess we're in.

The only way to stop our ever increasing debt is to BOTH cut spending AND increase revenue. Cutting spending alone won't balance the budget or pay down the debt; increasing revenue alone won't either. It will take a combination of BOTH drastic spending cuts & increased revenue.

The Dems continue to use the excuse of a fragil recovery to refuse to significantly cut spending, while the GOPasuars will continue to use the same excuse to oppose revenue increases. BOTH sides are to blame.

So I'll ask again- is there ANY level of debt where Dems would agree to significantly cut spending regardless of the state of our economy? Or is the sky the limit??

Of note, even during the so-called Clinton "surplus" years, the Dems never actually cut spending; they simply got more revenue from a tech bubble economy which of course crashed later.

Just to reiterate-

The Dems refuse to cut spending during a recession.
The Dems refuse to cut spending during a recovery.
The Dems refuse to cut spending during a booming economy.

So to recap- the Dems refuse to cut spending- EVER.

Why do you refuse to say when the Dems would be willing to significantly cut spending?

$25 trillion in debt?
$50 trillion in debt?
$100 trillion in debt?

Could it be there is no limit?

On the contrary, a happy one. I grew up in America...not sure which fascist country gave birth to you, but hey - you're better off here. Now if you'd just adjust your thinking accordingly and find a way to cope with those childhood traumas!:)

I see you're still unable to say what level the debt has to get to before you'd be willing to significantly cut spending regardless of the state of our economy.

$25 trillion?
$50 trillion?
$100 trillion?

Eventually our economy WILL collapse under the weight of our massive debt. So one way or another the cuts are coming.

Why didn't Clinton and the Dems cut spending when the economy was booming?

Instead they used that as an excuse to INCREASE SPENDING EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

Yep, the Dems will NEVER cut spending no matter what the state of our economy is.

NEVER.
