Early in American History, it wasn't the government's responsibility to provide for the poor.

Local communities and religious and private institutions provided for those in need of CHARITY.

Once the government became involved in providing WELFARE to the needy, it put itself in the position of TAKING from productive people and redistributing weath to the less-than-productive.

The 'War on Poverty' being fought by the government has proven itself to be a FAILURE.

It is time to return to our roots where CHARITY comes from the heart and NOT from the hand of government.

How True! LBJ's "War on Poverty" wound up costing us 25% of the National Debt and there are more "poor People" then ever before. It seems the last way to fix poverty is to give poor people anything, It just solidifies their adherence to failure.
My president was elected by dead people!
