The issue of campaign spending and AGW rests on the fact that the Republican campaign is funded by oil money, and their anti-science is mostly to satisfy their moneyed contributors.

The attack ads are certainly one sign of the depths to which they have sunk in order to satisfy their masters. The only real issues they support are actually misleading.

For example, the XL pipeline. BOTH sides support he pipeline. The difference is hidden.

Obama wants it to go through with a proper environmental assessment and maybe diversions around sensitive areas such as aquifers that feed large cities.

Romney says he support the XL pipeline (implying that his strategy is NOT the same). Well, count on it. His support will NOT include any rerouting or assessment. He will simply give the go-ahead to Embridge to run leaky pipelines where-ever they want and to heck with quality or risk assessment of the pipes. I have to wonder how much Embridge contributed.. probably 10% of the money they saved by not cleaning up their spills worth a d@mn.
