New Romney Video: In 1985, He Said Bain Would "Harvest" Companies for Profits

There are 68 comments on the www.motherjones.com story from Sep 27, 2012, titled New Romney Video: In 1985, He Said Bain Would "Harvest" Companies for Profits. In it, www.motherjones.com reports that:

This clip shows the young CEO focusing on businesses as targets for his investors, not as job creators or community stakeholders.

(requested by Mothra)

Romney's top priority wasn't to boost employment. As the Wall Street Journal recently noted, creating jobs "wasn't the aim of Bain or other private-equity firms, which measure success by returns produced for investors." And, the newspaper reported, Romney's 100,000-jobs claim is tough to evaluate.

Your disdain for the poor & working poor (...higher cigarette and booze taxes...) show you to be a hopless wanna-bbe Romney voter. So go, vote for Romney, and see what it gets you.
What I have disdain for is you lame pretense that you portray here on Topix. You know the difference between earned income and investment income. You know that investment income is the governments second bite at the apple on the earned income that made the initial investment.

Your disdain for boot strapped working American that takes care of his future by investing shows you to be an Obama supporter who is envious and jealous of the success of others. So go vote for Obama. I could tell you what it will get you four years from now, but why bother....

Time and time again draft dodger mittwit has shown his contempt for law abiding productive working Americans. He has shipped thousands of living wage jobs overseas without a twinge of conscience. He is a sociopath without a conscience and a social Darwinist of the worst type! The comment by 'slum landlords' clearly illustrates this mindset! He/she/it even provided a link to an ayn rand worshiping website. For those that don't know aym rand was a meth addled lunatic that thought that empathy and compassion are vices and worshiped a serial killer!

I am the TRUE Communist sympathizer. I refused to battle the communists in Vietnam when asked to do so by my country. I was a scion. I'm a man of wealth, taste and elegance. I was not born to spend my youth sweating in the jungles of Vietnam. I was born to gently saunter the well manicured lawns of America's most exclusive country-clubs.

I have been a good friend to the members of China's politburo. I have invested millions of dollars into China's economy. I've been a leader in moving industry from America's shores to the shores of China. When I see empty manufacturing facilities as I tour stateside for my campaign,I'm reminded of the success of my efforts. I know those manufacturing jobs are now in China where wages and costs are extremely low. This is good for the investment and executive class. My efforts have hurt the working class of America, but I don't care about those people. They are expendable. They are inelegant. I don't like working people and I especially hate autoworkers.

My success is in the profits. The bank accounts of CEO's. Under my guidance,CEO's can now make multitudes of millions instead of just a meager one million per year. Investors can live off their dividends. Banking establishment in the Caymans and Switzerland have new customers thanks to my efforts at Bain Capital.

I'm not a simpleton. I'm a member of the investment and executive class. I'm a Republican. We must cut taxes for:

Donald Trump

Gene Simmons

Ted Nugent (A fellow draft dodger)

Paris Hilton

We MUST CUT BENEFITS TO VETERANS.

<yawn> In 1998 on video, Obama said his goal was redistribution of wealth. <yawn> If you aren't worried about that, I'm not worried about something Romney said 28 years ago

I bet you $10,000 that this tape came from the same meeting that shows Willard and his Bain buddies stuffing their pockets with loads of ill-gotten cash. Bain's business would've been illegal prior to GOP deregulation in the 80s. Prior to Reaganomics, our nation was doing much better financially. Remember the 60s and 70s? The middle class had it great with the "American Dream" alive and well. Then came Reaganomics and Bankster Gangsters like Willard and his Bain Capital.

Ha ha ha. After the parasites like Bain got their hands on a company, they sucked it dry for themselves. Nobody else but themselves. And when a company couldn't sustain itself under the great debt the "Bains of the world" saddled it with, it collapsed. No more company. No more jobs. But bulging pockets for the likes of Romney. The American worker be damned.

Your disdain for the poor & working poor (...higher cigarette and booze taxes...) show you to be a hopless wanna-bbe Romney voter. So go, vote for Romney, and see what it gets you.
Likewise, go vote for Barack again and see where it gets you. Four years later, you're worst off already.

THANKS FOR PLAYING BUT WE DON'T WANT YOUR GAMES JUST BECAUSE BARACK IS A CERTAIN SKIN COLOR.

He can't be bothered with negotiating and working through Obamacare, forcing officials to vote on a 2000 page law overnight without reading it. Then he vetos what HE DOESN'T LIKE. He won't bother WORKING WITH CONSTITUENTS AND PLAYS GOLF. Really good representative you got there. More like a Wolf in Sheep's clothing, like those hispanics who scammed their own out of thousands $ for fake IDs.

Romney was a GOP but he listened to his constituents and worked for 2 years meeting with different groups impacted by his health care program to produce legislation that WORKED. His legislation was only 70 pages and all parties read it thoroughly. What was not acceptable Romney devised compromises acceptable to the disputing sides.

Forget about Barack producing anything that will work out. Health care will be not be what you think you should get. It will be sort of Michelle's version of NAZI School Lunch. You can't get Obamacare unless you prove you don't smoke, sign up for government exercise programs, and only eat what the government says you can. DO YOU FOR ONE MINUTE THINK THAT UNDER A SOCIALIST SYSTEM YOU WILL BE FREE? There is no free lunch. If you are dependent, you do what PAPA and MAMA tells you. Today it's Barack.

Tomorrow it will be ANOTHER SOCIALIST DICTOCRAT, maybe another Bush but if Obamacare passes and you follow no matter who the leader. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. HAVE A GOOD LIFE. YOU WASTE YOUR TIME NOW TO LOCK YOURSELF UP.
