Well, I was just reading about that time in American histoty:

http://suite101.com/article/new-deal-oppositi...

And it turns out that FDR did have opposition "from many corners including the Republican Party, Socialists, Communists, prominent leaders and the Supreme Court"... which is arguably worse than some whining Teabaggers and "Will Dockery".

Seems your new troll think news or opinions he disagrees with is "lies".
The way I see it if the Tea Party is extreme, the President Obama is just as extreme, just in the opposite direction.
I an not a tea partyer but the do have legitimate points on government spending and its effects on our economy.

I agree on that, Commando... the Republicans and Democrats have both had their chances and both mostly failed. Sure, Obama has done a few good things, but even Bush did some good.

I appreciate hearing good news, but the best news of all I've been hearing is that my candidate Gary Johnson is picking up momentum, notably in valuable states such as Colorado and Ohio.

Johnson may not get it this year, but it does look like the time for a valid Third Party to emerge out of the failures of the Republican-Democrat monopoly of mutual corruption.

Being opposed by people with no power isn't much of an obstacle. The Republican party was a minority in Congress, the Supreme Court doesn't make law, Socialists/Communists have never had any power whatsoever.

I think Lies are lies. Notice how I always post links to the actual facts? Why is it y'all can never do that?

You really don't think there's a differnce between lies and opinions?

I didn't say that. Druid Hill said that.

I say that the 'news' he bases his opinions on are lies. When your opinion isn't based on fact, it is not worth much.
I also have the integrity to back every single thing I say up with a link to a CREDIBLE source. Something you don't see the others doing.

I get upset when people lie to me. The thing that amazes me is that when you show people that they are being blatantly lied to, they don't get upset. They WANT to be lied to because the lie supports their opinions.

Every story I post has a link. Are you implying that I lied about the poll this topic is based on. Was there ever a poll?

Every news topic I post has a link right under the title on the first page.

A link to a poll conducted by a partisan newspaper. The results are *shocking*!

No. I'm outright saying that you're a gullible chump if you think you can't get a poll to say anything you want it to. This isn't news. It's propaganda.

How about you demonstrate your critical thinking skills and explain how the stock market has more than doubled if the economic environment is bad for ALL businesses.

Everyone here knows how I feel about polls but they are a popular topic.

Wrong again. I'm here. I don't know.
It's why I asked.

How has the stock market managed to double when the "economic environment is bad for ALL businesses?"

Simple question. Explain yourself.

Please provide a link to show it doubled since 2009, I will admit my knowledge of the stock market is lacking but not totally non existent.

I have posted many things on this Topix board, aren't you going to refute the rest of them since you say I am a liar?

I did revise that. I say you spread lies, not create them. I'm not going to fact check your past. I will provide the facts every time you I see you spread a lie from here on out, though.

Like Jim, I know very little about stock markets but the fact that they've doubled since 2009 obviously is great news for all of us.

Okay, I get that point, which is where we began, you calling me on my "Obamaphone" jokes, when the free phone program goes back at least as far as the Clinton era, or even more accurately... Ronald Reagan!

http://thinkprogress.org/election/2012/09/27/...

Thousands of conservatives are on Twitter, telling jokes about the #ObamaPhone.

There is one problem with the Obama Phone: It doesn’t exist.

Since 2009, there has been an urban myth that Obama created a program to provide free phones to low-income Americans at taxpayer expense. There is, in fact, a government program that will provide low-income people with a free or low cost cell phone. It was started in 2008 under George W. Bush.

The idea of providing low-income individuals with subsidized phone service was originated in the Reagan administration following the break-up of AT&T in 1984.(It was expanded and formalized by the Telecommunications Act of 1996.) The program is paid for by telecommunications companies through an independent non-profit, not through tax revenue.
