US heartland cities debating gay rights measures

The small business owner also remembers when white supremacists bombed a gay church in Springfield, bomb-sniffing dogs and metal detectors were used at the local university for a play about a gay Jewish activist and the school's president refused to add sexual orientation to Southwest Missouri State University's nondiscrimination policy.

Once again, making baseless claims against me is nothing but a waste of time. I'm saddened to see you attacking me so vividly when you must really have nothing better to do with your existence.

If you have trouble getting hired in Springfield just act gay. Not cut out for the job? Just act gay. I see a trend. Soon we will have mentally retarded midgets on the police force protecting us and officers from foreign countries who cannot speak English. Well, there already are some who cannot speak English who work for the NYPD. Here I am using the politically correct term "gay" because the scientific term "homosexual" is offensive now I see. Guess no one wants to be a homo... Pretty soon you wont have any rights nor will anyone else if you contribute to this weakening of society and corrupting of the morals this country was founded on with multiculturalism. Homosexuality is the sign of a weakening, decadent, and crumbling society, just look at history and you will see the trend. I don't want to end up like the people in those history books.

You see, I do not speak against homosexuality because of religious beliefs, but from an anthropological point of view, the scientific study of the origin, behavior, and the physical, social, and cultural development of humans. I am not blaming the homosexuals for the crumbling of society. Homosexuality is being used by the social engineers as a tool against us to break down and weaken society. If you look to history, the end of monogamous relationships, the end of the traditional family, decadence, people obsessed with entertainment, and an instant gratification type of mind set you see today are all signs of a crumbling society. The social engineers are wise, they have studied history and use it to their advantage. Don't be so foolish. Study history and use facts and logic before you embrace any doctrine. We are not at the height of civilization. Our kids are coming out of school more dumb than ever. The typical adult has a child's brain. Wakeup! Germany, during Hitler's reign, thought they were at the height of civilization too. They were the bohemians of the era so they thought and look what happened in their country. The Germans starved to death and were killed.

"homosexual" is NOT a scientific term. It was coined by a Prussian journalist in the 1800s.

Well then what is the scientific term? Gay and straight?

The word homosexual is a Greek and Latin hybrid, with the first element derived from Greek ὁμ&#972 ;ς homos,'same'(not related to the Latin homo,'man', as in Homo sapiens), thus connoting sexual acts and affections between members of the same sex, including lesbianism.[26][27] The first known appearance of homosexual in print is found in an 1869 German pamphlet by the Austrian-born novelist Karl-Maria Kertbeny, published anonymously,[28] arguing against a Prussian anti-sodomy law.[28][29] In 1879, Gustav Jäger used Kertbeny's terms in his book, Discovery of the Soul (1880).[30] In 1886, Richard von Krafft-Ebing used the terms homosexual and heterosexual in his book Psychopathia Sexualis, probably borrowing them from Jäger. Krafft-Ebing's book was so popular among both layman and doctors that the terms "heterosexual" and "homosexual" became the most widely accepted terms for sexual orientation.[31][32] As such, the current use of the term has its roots in the broader 19th-century tradition of personality taxonomy.

So see, it's the closest thing to a scientific term. The word homosexual has Greek and Latin roots like most do and is or was widely used by doctors until it became politically incorrect. Because it's happy and care free, bright and showy, it's glamorous to be with the same sex so now comes the need for a less "clinical" term.

For the behavior, or the orientation? They aren't the same you know.

ALL of the behaviors are also expressed by heteros, too, so they are exclusively defining. That's why "homosexual" fails as a scientifically-defining term.

Look, we can argue semantics for days. I know what the words mean to me and you know what they mean to you. To me they are not the same behaviors except for maybe in a simplistic sense. If you want to debate me with real dialogue and have a real discussion I will be much obliged.

Science is about precision in measurement and description, NOT personal meanings.

In a taxonomy of description based upon behaviors, if two proposed groupings share a behavior set, that behavior set cannot be said to differentiate the groups from each other. This is logic, NOT "semantics".

I did not come up with the term heterosexual and homosexual but they sound more defining than using a word like gay which just means happy or care free. The terms are worded with Latin and Greek root words that scientists can understand universally. You are the one who brought up the behaviors, and no, the behaviors between the two groups of heterosexual and homosexual are not the same behaviors in my opinion. In my next post I'll explain why anal sex of any kind is unnatural.

Did you ever wonder why we have a sense of smell? Could it be to protect us from health hazards such as dead decaying animals, feces, and other contaminants? Yes, that is precisely one reason. Senses can be used for many things but Some choose to satisfy one over the other I suppose. That's their choice I reckon and don't tell me that enemas are naturally occurring. See, anal sex is not natural and never was.

"gay" comes from the docks of New York. It is a misspelling of the Dutch sailor slang word "ghey" meaning "randy" as in "the randy tar".

Scientifically, the term "homosexual" is not just oxymoronic, it fails to define in the sense that it doesn't propose any distinguishing characteristic.

"Homo-erotic", "homo-affective" and "homo-tropic" are actually more specifically descriptive of the proposed grouping in that they actually distinguish the set from others in an exclusive way.

But I suppose the North American original people were really from India just because that's what everyone says. Right?

You'll have to define "natural" in a manner acceptable to the life sciences.

Just giving you fair warning.

Another caveat you should consider is that what mattrers in classification is NOT your personal affinities or antipathies about what may be defining characteristics ... in this case, behaviors.

Psychology is the study of human behaviors.(Remember, neiral activity is behavior, too)

So, this is what you want to discuss? the words are what they are and people use them to speak to each other. I mean really? A more scientific terminology would be, same sex relationship of the male Homo sapien /same sex relationship of the female Homo sapien. Then you could elaborate further into what type of relationship that might be. My point was that we are on the verge of losing free speech because a commonly used term by doctors and scientists has now become offensive to some and you had to nit pick my post. You never provided the proper scientific term for the orientation so I'm drawing the conclusion none exists. There's not much science in it anyway.
