RE: Retailers killing trucking industry - union
..... The whole purpose of unions is to defend the interests of their members; that includes withholding the services of their members if they have not been paid for two months as is stated in that article. "Enough was enough". Also superannuation has not been paid.
..... Retailers in Australia and elsewhere are fighting any and all competition, including the low prices for made-in-Asia items, and therefor they try to keep all costs, including all wages/salaries, down as much as possible, contrary to union aims. Eventually the unions may "cut their own throats" by requiring too much for too little, or else their members will go on strike. All salaries/wages are NOT paid by the employers, but by the buying customers; they are included in the prices, and if prices of locally-produced items are (much?) higher than the prices of similar made-in-Asia items then local items cannot be sold and then employees, including union members, will lose their jobs and incomes. BOO-HOO! In some bad cases firms will then even have to go out of business and everybody is then unemployed. Unions know that too!

So you're saying it has nothing to do with CEO's and Executives paying themselves $25000.00 dollar quarterly bonuses, and yearly bonuses, and eliminating 2nd and 3rd shifts forcing 1st shift workers to do more work for the same pay and less benefits, while increasing their salaries double off the backs of the workers by threatening them with termination if they don't comply to their NAZI-Demands to do more work and shut-the F--k-up about it.

When the Union steps in to protect their rights as human beings somehow it's all the unions fault?

A punk-azz Operations Manager makes over $106.000.00 a year doing WHAT? Give-up? FIRING GOOD WORKERS so his sorry azz can make that type of money, WHY is it the unions fault for trying to protect the workers from this type of CORPORATE GREED??????????

Let's see you try to answer that with a straight crooked face.

Here is a thought Ive been thinkin about. Starting a NEW union for truckers with the truckers best interest in mind. Remember, WE control the roads n freight, not them. They can control the pay,but when the drvrs take over their product,we actually have a say then. Threaten to put the word out about doin bad business to trckrs to the best of ability. If enuf drvrs join,we can call a nationwide strike. There will always b people who will go against the union n drive for min pay n long hrs,but if the majority is with u,just strike. The TEAMSTERS dont do shit for u except take ur money. Thats the same union, just different strategy. Just a thought(rite now). Give me some feedback.
