And they want their opinion to be taken seriously? Grow up, even if only a little, before you come play with the adults.
Oh, and by the way honey bun, I'm not a Republican.

Idiotic. You don't cut spending in the middle of a recession. Republicans merely want to cut spending on social programs while preserving tax breaks for big business and payoffs to their precious "Defense" industries.

Bush cut taxes and increased spending, as did Reagan before him. If you won't criticize them for running up deficits, you're a hypocrite as well.

Thanks for demonstrating that you can't defend your pathetic lie about my Soros statement. You can't prove it true or me wrong, therefore, you lose.

What the rest of it means I don't know and couldn't care less. I certainly never claimed that Obama didn't say it, so I have no idea what your point is.

I'd guess you keep it under your hat, right? ;)

Great Thought. Taxing high earners wasn't about paying down the debt. It was wealth/income redistribution, class warfare with a some class envy mixed in. The revenue from high earners would barely make a dent.
The national sales tax/value added tax is about the only way. I was thinking along the lines of a penny sales tax. Not one percent just one penny on every single transaction made in the US daily. ONE PENNY. That and plug up the corporate loop holes in the 15 THOUSAND page tax code. Individuals should not be paying more than corporations neting billions a year.
You need a 20 percent VAT to fund Medicare and Social Security. Without one, you can say bye bye to SS and Medicare. Where will you get the $122 trillion you need to pay the baby boomers SS and Medicare unless you create a national sales tax or VAT??

I agree they won't touch the real causes of deficit spending. The most probable solution will be to inflate the way out of debt. That's why I have a gold ETF.
Exactly. Soon enough all that money the Fed dumped into the system is going to create inflation and inflation is the only way out, and that will take the country down. Imagine the price of gas and food has already doubled since Obama got into office, imagine big inflation now on top of that. And here we lost out on 5 million good paying jobs in computer science and engineering because our people did not go to college and most of our people today are having kids out of wedlock going onto welfare, dropping out of high school, and then dump inflation, higher and higher prices on low income earners. OMG. It's like putting gasoline on a fire.

I love the absurd sums you invent in order to justify your claims about taxation, etc.

$122 trillion? Why not a gazillion, or a bazillion?:)

It's on the National Debt Clock. I already gave you the link. The total unfunded liabilities in SS and Medicare IS $122 TRILLION. Look it up. My link is still on this page.

The real question is why is it that NO ONE knows about it?? What are people doing talking about cutting spending and budgets and talking politics and yet not one citizen even knows that SS and Medicare has $122 trillion of debt?????

Everyone has been told this for years now, starting with Glenn Beck telling everyone this. And this is why you see both parties talking about cutting the entitlements every day on the news. This is what I said that people are so low they deny everything like little kids. It has to do with greed for money. That is why they are all being told a million times that SS and Medicare have $122 trillion of debt and yet every single person pretends that they never heard it.

Rick Perry said it in the debates. Beck wrote about it in his books and did shows on it. All Marco Rubio talks about is SS and Medicare, the Repubs wanted to make Medicare into vouchers. Rick Santorum said he would end Medicare right now, he said it in interviews and in the debates. It is on Fox constantly, the debt in SS and in Medicare, yet every person pretends they never heard about it. They want the money and the health care and they think somehow if they ignore the debt, they will somehow get the money. Life does not work like that. Unless they do fight for a VAT to fund SS and Medicare, those programs WILL end in 5 more years. People are too cheap to pay the tax so they will cut off their nose to spite their face, lose the two programs in total over greed and over being too cheap to ever discuss a VAT to fund the programs. Like I said, they hardly make a case for why they should exist let alone how are they worth $122 trillion in entitlements? They are not worth 5 cents, obviously.

These people should be marching for a national sales tax or a VAT to keep SS and Medicare. It is good they are this greedy cause this way the programs will be ended on them. And, MSNBC is have a clue about all of it.

All these people in political chatboards and yet not ONE of them has even looked at the National Debt Clock and looked up the unfunded liabilities in SS and in Medicare nor have they looked at the national debt clock at the largest spending items to see what they are, nor do they look at the clock to see what our trade imbalance is??? That is the definition of idiotic. I'm not even talking about researching, reading books, just look at the information on the National Debt Clock. It's not like it takes a lot of effort and god knows, Americans hate putting ANY effort into learning or researching anything. They ARE the problem.

They have been saying this on TV lately, that the people are the problem, that the people are like "tax you, not me, cut your stuff, not mine." Exactly what I have been saying.

..EDIT...
If Glenn Beck says so, it must be false. I don't see any links and I don't see any proof. SS is still funded by FICA withholding and will be for the near future; before that time comes we could rectify the situation merely by removing the cap for withholding and doing a little means-testing.

SS isn't Medicare, or run the same way. Again, you're just distorting, lumping things together, and making unsupported claims.

This is of course the principle this nation has followed since we first pulled out our USA credit card. No different than what we've always done, just more to the point.
