Business leaders in Pottsville say on the surface, raising the minimum wage might sound appealing - offering some relief to those working long days at restaurants, retail shops, and even in local businesses.

yeah! cause $9.00 an hour is way too much money. Here in Skook County, when the job ad says "great pay", that usually means $8.00 a hour. So after taxes, you can bring home a whopping $250 for a weeks work so you can take that check and one more to just pay the rent.

Unskilled jobs that most anyone can fill lead to minimal lifestyles that few aspire to. Always been that way, and always will be.

if i made nutcrackers i would hope to make more than $7.50 an hour. $9 an hour and I would make them on weekends too while polishing my tinfoil hat.

i don't make much at pizza hut, but it's a livin. i gets enough to party on the weekends.
