Why not just quit giving money away to companies like Solyndra, and put it into SS and Medicare.

Right wingers want to give social security to their wall street buddies so they can loot it just like they looted our economy twice! They could care less about people that have actually worked their whole lives!

The Democrats are just as guilty as the Republicans of looting Social Security.

Anyone with a lick of sense knows that.

ponzi schemer rugby ripped-off investors to the tune of 8.5 billion. He can reach into one of his offshore accounts and inject that into SSI.

No, it was the Democrat known as LBJ who started to ripoff of SS in 1966 to pay for the War in VN and the War on Poverty without raising the income tax rate that JFK had just lowered.

...any attempt to stop it has resulted in LEFTY screaming about stealing what LBJ already stole.

SS was initially in a trust, to be used only for its defined purpose. The Johnson administration made it part of the general fund and raided it to pay for the unpopular Vietnam War. Since then, it has been a veritable "piggy bank" for dishonest, unscrupulous and corrupt politicians. Supposedly, or in theory, there are IOU's guaranteeing repayment of the literally stolen funds. SS could be salvaged if we cut foreign aid, withdrew from the UN and stopped funding the World Bank, among other wasteful squandering of taxpayer money.

He did not rip anybody off. He simply went a little over the
budget----well maybe a little more than a little. When I
hear about Nancy Pelosi and her use of our company jets
for her little jaunts, I start to hyperventilate all over again,
especially when she may have gotten a chunk of the chocolate
cake to share with her constituents.

You are right, I talked to one of the designers of Social Security, they made it financially sound as best they could. Since the fund was available for the politicians to plunder it was bound to become inadequate. In addition they, the managers (Congress) did not enact the changes dictated by demographics.
The republicans want to 'privatize' retirement, that is have the big banks hold and administer the funds. Do you know what your fees are on your retirement accounts ...
