Hi Paula,

People are mean sometimes, cause they just don't know all the facts or they just don't have a life, I however was taken down that same deceitful road as you. I was lied to on so many levels, it's not even funny. I never thought in my (naive) mind that any one could do such a thing. I thought I was dealing with a reputable company, and didn't even question their integrity.
I am trying to get out of my negative arm loan with AHM as we speak. I applied for an interest only loan and ended up here. It's a long sad story, but I think you'll understand. I guess I should have noticed that RED FLAG when they ask me to sign the final paperwork 4x's. Go figure.... They always had the right answers and things to say. smooth talkers!
Anyways, dont think you have to explain yourself to anyone, because no matter what you say, their minds are already made up. Just know that their are many who stand beside you and are behind you, so fight the good fight cause David beat goliath once before. It cam happen again.

The law hides behind the law to avoid the facts. Who the hell reads the fine print of any contract? Do you, does anyone? It is intended to confuse. I think if everyone had the document they were about to sign reviewed by an attorney, commerce and government as we knonw it would cease to exist as we know it.

Let us stop the B.S. about the contract being read.

Maybe all of us consumers should ask for the contract first and send it to our local congressman for them to read before we sign on the dotted line. That should get someone's attention. Remember the contract that is drawn up isn't intended to PROTECT the consumer, it is to PROTECT the seller.

Maybe she should of read all of the paperwork, never assume people are looking out for your best interest. It sounds like you were making deals and living the good life for awhile, and just got caught up in the flipping, and bragging that you have not been had to work for years, because of the money you made off of selling homes. Unfortunately for you and a ton of other people the market changed. Instead of just dealing you want to take everyone down with you.

I've concluded that the majority of Americans are fiscally, financially, economically ignorant - and they like it that way.

I sold the Option ARM solidly fo two years, and frankly I bent over backwards to explain the loan to them. In describing how a borrower could hurt themselves with this loan (which is a flexible loan with great benefits to those who can remain aware of how it works and act accordingly) if they did not keep in mind the cautions I provided them I always made the analogy to operating a chain saw in the dark.

I found that people only heard what they wanted to hear, and point fingers to ALL the loan officers who "deceived" them - NOT!

Are there Loan Officers who lied to borrowers about their loan? Of course; there are bad apples in every group.

Are there borrowers who lie to the courst and the press to cover their own responsibility for mishandling their loan? Absolutely! There are bad apples in every group.

Besides, the entire focus of reform in the industry for years has been the use of written foreclosures from the initial application process through the actual closing, and if you are financing your residence you get three (3) days to rexcind.

How about reading the freakin' paperwork, Paula??? I don't believe you didn't know it was neg am - unless youdidn't carry out your responsibility to read the paperwork!!

You had 3 days to rescind, and YOU FAILED TO DO YOUR JOB!!

You're just another American with your hand out - I mean, in our pockets!

Slimy borrowers trying to slide out from under their responsibility for screwing themselves are every bit as bad as those slimy mortgage brokers, lenders, and loan officers that misrepresent as well. However, we are heavily outnumbered by people like you!

A POX on ALL your houses!!

That is like blaming the victim for leaving their door unlocked and a burglar came in and robbed the house. It is like a guy walking down a dark street and gets mugged. Like a gal sporting some cleavage and a short skirt and blame her for getting raped. It is like Oprah asking the Central Park Jogger why was she jogging in Central Park at night.

You got to be kidding me.

Don't lock of the drug dealers, lock of the customers. It's the customers fault the dealers sell drugs.

I will not post again because it is obvious to me that some cowards will shoot off the mouth hiding behind a fake name endlessly. They just don't have anything better to do. Sad for them. As for me, I will continue my advocacy on behalf of the millions of people out there who have or will lose there home to foreclosure. Nothing anyone says who seeks to judge things they know nothing about while hiding behind a coward's post, will deter me from helping many people who didn't deserve what happened to them. Things I didnt understand until spending thousands of hours researching. Those of you who are full of hate, resentments and judgements will be taken care of by a higher power then me. My story will be told in it's entirity in good time, and I don't feel the need to respond to these endless, meaningless attacks on me. I've requested over and over again for any of you to reveal what your background is or research or personal knowledge is of me or American Home Mortgage, but nothing is forthcoming. It's easy to fling crap, not so easy to back it up with facts. I have the facts, the proof and the knowledge that the posters who are hostile must have a connection to American Home Mortgage to defend them so strongly. You are not fooling anyone. This company stole from their own employees deferred compensation disquised as a protected accounts, stole from their investors by selling them crap cut and paste loans and in the end stuck them all, stole from vendors and business that did work for them all over the country, stole from the borrowers with PPP and Neutron bomb loans, stole from ordinary people and retirees whose money was risked in the stock offering in April when AHM knew they were going under, and stole from the government and other insurers like Triad, collecting insurance on misrepresented foreclosed loans. Do I really need to continue? Read the dockets, the lawsuits, and I've had conversations with folks in Washington that assure me it will all be exposed in the end. So for now I will end this needless waste of my time and go back to focusing my energy on things that really matter. To the people here who have supported me, Thank you. We will all be vindicated in the end.

Dear Paula,

What is happening to you has happened to others before - they attempt to ridicule without any substance. I suspect some of the attacks come from those who wish to silence you, not with facts, but with derision.

This has happened to me before on an issue of importance to me. I have provided literally thousands of posts and I have not received ONE post that attacks the facts. Just more of the same garbage that you have had to endure over the past month. It is very typical of them. You hit a nerve some where along the way.

Writing out your feelings is good therapy. Why not continue it. It is like the guy who puts a note in a bottle and hopes some one will find it washed ashore a 1,000 miles away.

You probably were kind of dopey when you got involved in the loan. But that is what they prey on, it is a disgrace that people such as these are alowed in the business.

As I have told you there were two informants the Suffolk DA used in a burglary trial to convict an innocent man. Both of them were mortgage brokers who are burglars, drug dealers, stick up men, arsonists, and whatever, now pretending to go legit selling mortgages. The industry is so lucrative that one fellow went down to Boca Raton, Florida, and opened up two mortgage busiensses : Washington Funding Group, and Globe Mortgage Network. No license, nothing, other than to hang a shingle on his door : Open for business.
He opens up a Globe Realty Network LLC, and associates himself with a Globe Title Company. He just rounds out the edges to push his phony mortgages, and then flips, or attempts to flip at least 6 pieces of property. And those are the only ones I can find because they were registered in his own name, and that of his parents. The joker then dabbled in selling steroids. Part of that operation has been taken down by the Albany, NY, DA in Florida over the past few months, with an arrest the other day of this fellow's pal, and probably business partner in the steroid business, and what appears to be a 'straw buyer' for an apartment located at 99SE Mizner Blvd., Boca Raton, FL, apt 843A.

And nobody seems to give a sh#t, because they all dropped the ball for a lack of competence.

Keep up the good work - and let your voice be heard. People do listen, many don't post.

curious question for paula:
the lawsuit serves what purpose? Do you understand the premise of borrowing money to purchase a home and having to pay the borrowed money back? Do you believe you should not have to be paying a mortgage at all for the home you purchased with someone else's money? Are you looking to have the terms of the mortgage changed to what you believed they were supposed to be in the first place?

mortgage BS,

American Home Mortgage frauded investors, MI companies, employees and borrowers.

One of their MI companies is refusing to pay 1.1 million dollars worth of claims due to the loan docs submitted being misrepresented.
They stole $27,000,000- of their employees deferred income investment plan.
They cut and pasted loan documents.
They took money from Banks before they went bankrupt well knowing the outcome would be not paying them back. Employees are coming out of the woodwork stating that the executives knew the company was going down as early as January 2007.

And you are blaming a borrower for trusting them?

They defrauded millions of dollars out of savy investors.

Who were the dumb dumbs????

THIEVES!!! taking advantage of those looking to take a shot. A bank or a mortgage company is obligated to do due diligence on a customer before approving a loan. Most people who took out these loans were chasing a dream they could never catch up to.

Many of those in the mortgage racket today were the former thieves in the stock market 'boiler rooms' of 5 years ago.

Several of those mortgage companies in Mortgage Alley of Melville hired on employees simply for their skills in stealing. Hiring on sales persons with criminal records, and even recruiting them out of prison was not a problem.

My son was recently trying to acquire a loan from a company that came under scrutiny and a few days later he receives an anonymous note in the mail with one initial signed at the bottom. It instructed him to check out the company first before signing on the dotted line. We believe it came from the broker who he sat down with to do the loan.
