Here's my humble comments re cobra and bankrupcy. From my experience in working for a company that went bankrupt, THERE IS NO COBRA AVAILABLE. And if it were, you will be paying over $1000.00 for family plan. Laws might have changed in the last few years, so check. Also, for those with kids, look into the NYS health care for families. You might be eligible for cheap health care for your kids through NYS. You and your spouse on the otherhand will have to pay around $600.00 plus for minimum coverage. For dental, look into the dental plans on websites - you can get a family plan for around $150.00 per year. Google to find plan. By the way, I worked for AHM at one time just before it reinvented itself as a REIT. Some business people think they are so smart, they can circumvent the rules - not actually breaking any laws put pushing the envelope as far as possible. Pride and Greed are two very powerful emotions and obviouisly these were pushing uppermanagement (which consisted of only one person).. forget about the "yes" people that had titles but only "follow orders."...they were there for window dressing. I was fortunate enough to have been shown the door by management - and in a humiliting manner. Now the tables are turned - the person who inflicted this humiliation on me-has appeared and will continue to appear in bankrupcy court. There is justice in this world.... sometimes it takes a little time..and sometimes greedy and souless people escape under the radar .. but in this instance there is no escape. Thanks God!

I was one of the original AHM employees in 1988.
Strauss was a bum then too. No one ever got paid for their last two weeks on the job....I didn't either. Zebras don't change their stripes. The bigger you get the crookeder you are.

Back in 2006 I was hired as FTE as a Crystal Reporting Analyst with direct reporting to the CEO.
When I was told to start "Tweeking" the numbers as to make things look better then they actually were, I then resigned. This mandate came directly from Strauss himself. "Run a query with top 1o
loan performers and make it look like the average..." His mantra-"Dishonesty is the best policy for our investors!"
