Lamar Construction Co. files for bankruptcy after abruptly laying off all 280 employees
Lamar Construction Co., the Hudsonville firm that abruptly laid off all of its 280 employees this week, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on Friday, July 11. In a petition filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, company shareholders Carl Blauwkamp and George Holmes said they will liquidate and dissolve the company through the proceedings.
