His salary was halved? Geez no wonder all the Libs
were crying in their chardonnays when Howard got the arse.

I thought Guillard looked like she'd been living the good life.

The Milky bar Kid AKA Weasel Krudd would be loving this.
Personally I think this is good as Abbott will be feeling the economic pain like the rest of us.

I note Krudd has a personal fortune of over 5.5 million so he should use that to support a few boat people seeing he loves them so much!.

Don't be silly. Where would the world be if greedy elites had to take personal responsibilty for and pay for themselves the wars they create and the resulting refugee problems?

That's why we have corporate socialism, so the booty and profits of war-making goes to a select few while the average person on the street insures them with their taxes and their lives.

Tony Abbott forgot to declare a $700,000.00 loan. He also forgot to pay for $9400.00 in travel expenses when he was on the advertising trail to sell his book.

Just another one of those oversights.

No wonder Malcolm Turnbull is the preferred opposition leader by the general public.

Criminals aren't permitted to make money from selling their stories.

The way voters are treated by politicians is offensive but it's hard to prove criminal intent.

Tony Abbott should consider writing a book with some fully funded policies in it and try and sell it to the electorate.

It was good to see the PNG government kept a large photo of Kevin Rudd to display at the press conference.

The only other person I have seen give a speech with a portrait of them self in the background is the Queen.

Hey Brother Foo me and brother Mohammed FOO have been searching for you. Are you OK. Do you need the family to give you any help. You know we are a close family. You and Mohammed must get back to the Mosque for prayers or those virgins will be forfeited brother.

As far as I'm concerned politicians have a full time job looking after their local constituents. If they are writing personal Bio's for cash they aren't doing their job.

That's the point, they are supposed to be supporting us not themselves .
They should be made to pay back wages and perks on completion of their extra curriculum activities.

EX Senator Bill O'Chee was able to do a law degree whilst in Parliament.
What do you think all the overseas study tours at 6 star hotels are for,not to our advantage.
Check out the study tours Government Judges and Magistrates get, what's the point seeing overseas laws are not applicable here in Australia.
The Government mentioned at some time in the past that for reducing their wages they compensated them with an overseas study tour.
The Government is complicit in this fraud.

I don't disagree with you NT, there are way too many politicians rorting the system.

http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/turnbull...

Malcolm Turnbull the richest politician going pays his wife $175.00 per night rent, then claims the expense, when he stays in a Canberra property she owns.

It's an old story but relevant to what we are discussing and I think he's one of the better, if not the best LNP politician.

Seeing Kevin Rudd owns a mansion in Canberra I am wondering why he needed to stay in posh hotel when he was on the back bench and would he make the same claim as Turnbull.
Labor Senator Jan McLucas got caught owning a house in Canberra and claiming her home in Cairns as her primary address the one she rents out to her staffer .
