The three stooges (Frank, Dodd and Schumer) all need to leave Washington. They significantly contributed to this financial mess and can hardly be expected to lead us out of it. If the three took responsibility for their actions and resigned quietly -- well that would be "change I could believe in". With them still there, it's just more of the same and this latest stimulus package is another prime example of government ineptitude at its best.

Chris Dodd is at the crux of this problem. Everyone looking for something that they think they deserve. Time for pitchforks to revolt on this elite socialism.

HOW DO YOU DO A WHOLE STORY AND NOT REPORT THE TERMS OF THE LOAN. IT IS IRONIC HOW HE{DODD} HAD PERSONAL NOTES ON HIS MORTGAGE. DODD TALKS LIKE HE IS LIKE EVERY OTHER AMERICAN THAT REFINANCED DURING THIS PERIOD,BUT I DO NOT REMEMBER GETTING PERSONALIZED NOTES ON MY MORTGAGE DOCUMENTS.

I would jump at the chance but then I am not the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs.

Perhaps thats why it was not offered to me.

Hey Lilly, of course we all would have jumped at a 4% rate. Unfortunately, not being Chairman of the powerful Senate Banking Committee it wasn't offered to us. Another politician either not paying taxes or taking advantage of their elected power. Dodd is an elitist, pompous ass, throw him out...

The citizens of the US just got a free education as to why we can not have rates that good. we need to help the banks generate the income necessary to pay out millions in bonuses to the big dogs, they need more millions to spend on lobbyists, and lets not forget their need for private jets and million dollar office make overs. The fact that those rates were acceptable to the bank means that we the prople should be able to enjoy them as well not just the people who really do not need them.
Now under the watchfull eye of dodd and his ilk we will see mortgages, as soon as they get around to loosining up the credit market at around 7-8% for normal people with 20% down. Dodd and his cronies should write a book for all of us called banking for dummies. We created this mess through the lack of demand for accountability and now have furthered it with the audacity of a dope. We will be paying for this whole mess both republicant and Democrap for the next twenty years but at least as Pelosi said " We won the election" so now they do whatever they want NOT WHAT WE WANT!!!!!

Please suggest a State or commonwealth in the continental US where someone can mind their own business have real representation in govt and have their rights and privacy protected because I for one would look to relocate.

Chris Dodd was a key silent player in the Yeshiva University Trustee, Bernard Madoff's 50 billiob ponzi scheme. He was in charge of overseeing the SEC investigators of the filings of this Israeli financial terrorist Bernard Madoff. Its not hard to see why Dod did nothing when we have an Israeli citizen for a senator named Joseph Lieberman and now an Israeli cheif of staff named Rahm Emanuel. Dodd's poor acting of being outraged at his friend Bernard Madoff is how the scam was to be complete. We are chin deep in corrupt Connecticut politicians who hold foriegn state citizens interests above American interests. Illegal AIPAC Lobbyist money and gifts given to these Ct Fat cat politicians and how they lie to us during great economic hardtimes is a sign of democracy being abused for private gains as we see with Dodd. The mere fact that Connecticut taxpayers are outraged with Dodd's illgotten assets is proof enough that he is as guilty as Madoff.

The honorable gentleman may be correct in saying that didn't ask for special treatment, but as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, he didn't have to. The corruption in our political system is so ingrained that it's just expected, and considered no different than free parking at the DC airports or the billions of dollars in other perks slurped up by our elected representatives.

As a second-generation Senator to run afoul of Senate ethics rules and common decency, Dodd's sense of entitlement has apparently overcome his common sense.
