When you society becomes morally & fiscally 'bankrupt'(read "Fall of the Roman Empire"), then your society fails. When I was in 7th Grade (in Texas), President Kennedy was assassinated. That was the beginning of the downfall of the USA. Since then, we have had ups and downs, but overall, we started to slide. It would take hundreds of pages to go through those years to point out who was at fault (both sides are equally to blame), but we will fail and in the next few years. Then, we will know what the 1930's felt like to our Grandparents.

I don't consider that 'whining', I consider it 'black & white' facts. When the USA DOES fail, then EVERYONE will be whining. I hope we can buck the history books and avoid it.

Keep preaching liberal. Some one is bound to hear you.

If not for private business, capitolism, a Republic run under democratic rules, a government run for the people and by the people, this arena you entered what I like to call as "the Wynn Mott liberal syndrome", there would be no country for you to bitc*h about being so proud to be a liberal and the government should do more for me... me... me...

This nation became the great nation it is because of hard work, people with creativity and imagination, god fearing people, People who have a backbone and a spine with a desire to seek success by working them, and not using them to support their fully functioning legs standing and fleecing in the welfare lines.

The Conservatives back then and now would not stand behind people like you in the welfare lines, always bit*hing about you didn't get enough commodities last time. Our conservatives would and do walk away from your government "feed trough" and go find work or make it.

This government works for us. We do not work for them. Thats what it needs to always be.

Word up Conservatives... When the liberals of even Luna and Deming small town New Mexico continue to praise and successfully publish more welfare programs and government run hand-outs instead of pushing for labor intensive work programs that produce an "output"... and you local conservatives and moderats don't speak up about it... That is where we begin to fail not only our nation, but our families of our nation.

God fear the king. Government fear the people. Praise and support business. Keep imagination alive by creating more opportunites... and the rich... well, keep spending your money... It keeps my paycheck coming in on time every week, it helps me pay my taxes, and feeds my family.

More government my a$$ liberal. I'll be your conservative- compassionate-hucklberry... and I'll grab the horns 'cause I tire... "OF YOUR WIMPERING".

Paul--The Communist Manifesto does indeed givw Government [Along w3ith the Politboro] TOTAL power to 'take care of the citizens [subjects]. In the good 'ole USA however we use the Constitution and the Bill of rights, Which gives it's free citizens the right to 'Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.' it must be that word 'pursuit' that evades you. By the was Socialism has Never worked, and,k like cancer is slowely destroying our country--Com'on November!

RE: Voice of the People (August 23)
..... I am reminded of reading what happened in Europe during the early 1920s when they increased the money supply in order to pay their debts, called reparations. See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperinflation
..... Note the many countries, including the USA, that had hyperinflation. But their population still survives! Is there life after financial death?

Of course there is. "I am reminded of reading what happened in Europe 90 years ago" ... yada yada yada... This is 2010.

What happened 90 years ago and how it happened and what was done 90 years ago to correct or worsen athose crisis will not apply to todays time of jet airplanes, faster paced internet based financial transactions, speed of communications, and more transportation by vehicle than pulled by a horse, or snail mailing checks for social security reciepiants (in the late 1930's though and not the 1920's).

We know the past. Why don't you write something on how to manage a crisis, say in 2010 RATHER THAN 1920? Does anybody out there have any dam idea on what to do today to help in these pressing times? or do we got to continue to read stupid accounts of what went wrong in 1920 and old crap that failed? Anybody? Any outside the box ideas for a change that you can believe in... oh heck... what was I thinking...

We are still stuck with people writing crap in demings headlight about 1920 'cause no one has any dam idea whats going on anymore... let alone how to fix it.

You are frustrated, angry and ranting. Take a look around you and then take one small step in a positive direction. You or I are not here to solve the world's problems, just the ones right under our noses. Help a kid study, take someone to a doctor, help to organize a soup kitchen, etc. and etc. You are needed.

down the street one day I saw some kids standing around a box, frantically searching for answers. I asked if they had tried looking inside the box. They laughed and asked where I had been, "don't you know old man if you want a solution you have to look outside the box". I walked on as the kids continued their search. Soon I happened on another young man who kept looking around all bug eyed, staring out in space I asked what he was doing he said he was looking for the answers and that his grandpa always told him that the answer could usually be found right in front of your face. I wished him luck and continued my walk. As I continued I strated to think, maybe that first group of kids couldn't find the solution because it was actually inside the box, and maybe the other kid would never find his answer because it wasn't right in front of his face. I was glad that I had found the solutions to my lifes problems and the answers to my lifes questions because I had been taught to open my mind and my eyes and look everywhere because sometimes you find answers in the most unusual of places

This is the first time I had ever applied for a loan. I couldn't have asked for anything more from the staff that answered any of my questions to the application process. Once this had all been completed the money was transferred quickly into my account. I will definitely be recommending 911PDAY .COM ( http://goo.gl/44kQUQ ) too my friends and family.
