When I got laid off from my job I asked them to lower my child support payments until I found another job. They told me that my child support had been set according to my earning potential. Even when I had no job my support stayed at $1200 a month! What makes him think he should have his lowered? Yes, definately entitlement issues.

He is Richie Farmer!!! He thinks the whole world owes him a free ride through life! He took a free 8 year ride courtesy of the TAXPAYERS!!! Biggest piece of garbage in this state!! He should be looking forward to his surgery at the end of the month, that new prescription will add to his stockpile of pain pills!!!

This case would be entirely different if:

A. This couple had their children out-of-wedlock (the mother would probably "qualify" for a substantial amount of public assistance for each child).

B. This couple were illegal immigrants and the children were born in the United States (which would "qualify them for much the same benefits as mentioned above).

I'll also note that this guy, as a former public sector employee, would most likely be paying far less if not for the fact that his ex-wife is also employed in the public sector. I say this because the public sector (i.e. the courts) will often "side with their own" in such cases. A case in point is that my private sector employed wife received only about $300 a month per child due to the fact that her ex-husband "worked" in the public sector(most divorced mothers, in our region, received as much as 2 or 3 times that amount).

Btw, does anyone here wonder about the taxpayer funded benefits (pension and/or health and daycare, etc, etc) that both the mother and father might be getting?

I didn't vote for him to begin with but in all fairness I have to say this. Ritchie Farmer just did what most of our politicians and upper management are doing. I've worked in the public sector for years and know what goes on. Just about all of them milk their job for all it is worth. He just got caught up in the politics of it all. Just look at the recent news about the Sheriff's Office using their vehicles for personal use, or the Bluegrass Regional Mental Health Mental Retardation Board buying a house near Cumberland Lake for their staff to use when they were straightening out Oakwood, or the recent fiasco at the City Transit. Should I go on? Everybody ignores it when it's just smoke but then it becomes too late to put out the fire.

He needs to continue to support his children.I am sure he is vested in the retirement system. He could use that money to support his children. Yes he made mistakes but his children should not have to suffer. He also could sell his house and pay back the banks..Responsibilty to your children should come fiirst.

In the paper last week under "Property Transfer" Richie got the house located on Cerdar Ridge I think. Time to sell the house, use that money to take car of your kids and taste reality. Go back home and live with the rest of your unemployed relatives since you hird them all. Then keep saying to yourself Richie, " It's not beneath me to sell cars"..."it's not beneath me to sell cars. I have faith you can do it kid! Now go out there, stand in the car lot with your porn mustache and say, Hi, I'm Richie Farmer. Want to buy a car?

Judge Hoven loves deadbeats so he would have no problem letting this guy lower his payments. Hell the guy could even get away with not paying at all. My ex gets away with it..Was 9,000.00 behind when we entered Judge Hoven's courtroom 3 years ago and now his arrears are over 18,500.00 dollars. Given let's him walk every time with no consequences.
