Jail time? Seriously? Guess we'll all feel safer with people like that off the street eh? No wonder prisons are so over crowded. The real criminals run free while good decent people are harassed and locked up. Our tax dollars hard at work pestering people we should be proud of. Shame on whoever is responsible. Also heard mention a similar story about the guy who bought the old textile mill. Heard he is facing a massive fine and jail time because he's not cleaning up fast enough. I was happy to hear someone finally doing something with it after being abandoned all these years. Cool to actually see the grass cut regularly and repairs being made there as that place is historic and just very cool architecture. I'd guess it'll take years to clean up. Why were the previous owners who let the place get run down in the first place never fined and thrown in jail? Guess the city officials prefer winos living there instead of it actually becoming functional and presentable again.

I'll tell you who's responsible, Joe Funderburk, the home inspector for Clover. This low-life went above and beyond his duties to make sure this 79 year old man went to jail. All he's trying to do is survive yet people like Funderburk wants to see people sent to jail no matter what the circumstances are. The sad part is I'm 2 states away and showing more interest in this injustice than most of the people from Clover. The residents of Clover should ban together and help the old man out and replace this home inspector with someone who has some compassion with the elderly.

Why aren't the people of Clover outraged by this?!!

If you let this scum get away with this injustice, you will lose ALL your freedoms!

I'm from clover. This shit pisses me off but nobody in this town gives a shit enough to do anything. And as far as the code enforcement man they are more crooked than the police here. It's ridiculous there are neighbor hoods in clover where people are sellin crack on the corrner every night but clover thinks this man is making clover look bad. The police and code enforcement are what make clover look bad

I agree with you guys. Seems our city leaders are corrupt and in bed with the judge. Code enforcement has become a joke. Sad a veteran that served his country goes to jail over bs. We need to fire these jerks and replace them with people that actually live in Clover. I spoke with a couple of the workers at the old textile mill and they said the city management is threatening the new owner with jailtime over the mess inside, that has been there for what, 30 years?? The guy is trying to clean that place up too. Wonder why they didn't jail its previous owner who let it run down to begin with?

Liberty and justice for all! John Ramsey should file an appeal with the higher court. This is clearly a violation of the 14th Amendment, Sec. 1 of the Constitution of the United States of America. This should be, and will be, taken to the State House in Columbia. We, as property owners, are protected by the Constitution and our elected officials should be reminded that they have taken an oath to uphold the Constitution. If we the people allow this type of tyranny from our local government it will just get worse. John Ramsey is a 79-year-old veteran that fought for our country and after all of these years of living in Clover they threw him in jail just to prove who is boss. Are we really protected by the Constitution in York County?

If the "powers that be" think its such a big problem, why dont they go assist the old man in getting it originized? Someone put up a fence so it cant been seen now and the big boss in town still has a problem with it.. The old man is just trying to make a little money to help them make it. Why dont the man who is raising so much hell about this just fork over some of his money to help the old man. have to wonder what runs this town.. SOunds like a bunch of damn yankees!Yankees dont care about anyone but themselves, just like the people who run clover sc.what a bunch of idiots.

Why dont some of the nearby residents catch the code enforcement CRIMINAL out in a remote location, take him out behind the barn and give him a little country justice.
