About 9 years ago I left the USA for Ireland as I was 20 and on a road to nowhere I want to try living in a different country, I have dual citizenship. Upon leaving the states I had an outstanding cell phone bill of 500, outstanding credit card bill of 2000, and a bank account that was in the red of $250. I want to move back to the states but Im worried about previous STUPID financial indiscretions catching up with me.

I know that at some point my credit score will have been affected, my question is whether my score will be as bad as it was after I left.I read somewhere that it takes 7 years for your credit score to be wiped clean, is that after the debt has been paid or is that without paying the debt. I havent done a credit check as I am scared to! If the debt is still being chased I would definitely pay it as I am financially secure now.
