Woodward and Burnstein were slandered by the Nixon administration also. When will the FBI come in and clean this up. I'm thinking this is another Juarez-Mazza distraction away from the real picture. A bigger picture.

"Any legitimate city entity verifies a contractor's (identity). Ask for his license for goodness' sakes. Ortega doesn't have any of that,"

Retire Mitch

United States

It is time for City Manager Jim Mitch to retire again, but this time at a much higher salary (pension spiking) thanks to our city council.

The entire city council needs to think about retiring next November and let the voters put some fresh faces who will hire competent people to run the city.

There are rumors that people were watching city employees long before Ed Ortega came on the scene. Hawthorne police officials were notified that a sexual predator was watching city employees in the city hall parking lot. Someone should look into that for the safety of all female employees and children that go to the parking areas.

KTTV/Fox + Hawthorne City government = gossip, finger-pointing, half-truths, rumor, lies, deception, cover-up, run-around and everything else that does not resemble accurate reporting or honest city government.

An unlicensed private investigator IS NOT a private investigator it is someone pretending to be a private investigator. At least attempt to be factual.

Sometimes you have to submit to such invasive investigation for some jobs if you want them.
Always make certain you know and document the basics when interogatted:
WHO is doing the work, what are thier qualifications?
HOW will they do it? If its a polygraph, ask for professional certification and calibration.
WHAT is the reason for every question? Ask for every one, or they wil lsay you were being obstriuctive on the ones you ask.
WHAT: bring a recording device- if they record, you record too.
WHEN: document the date, time and duration.

When did people living in glass houses start throwing stones? Is all this drama about the so-called private investigator going to make what went down at a strip club go away? Bottom line is two wrongs don't make a right. So many lies no one can keep it straight anymore just means the truth will come out. People just need to stop acting like they're untouchable, stay out of shady locations (like strip clubs), and stop pointing fingers to deflect the blame.

Yep, I totally agree when it comes to the TRUTH. However, just like people in Washington, let's deflect the truth by throwing out LIES. As quoted in the paper by Jag, there is NO DISPUTING the fact that they WERE @ a strip club; there's NO DISPUTING that Escobar was INTOXICATED, per Jag's quote & there's NO DISPUTING that he REFUSED TO TIP A DANCER! So I pose the question to ALL - is this ANY WAY FOR A CITY MANAGER & FINANCE DIRECTOR OF ANY CITY TO CONDUCT THEMSELVES all the while REPRESENTING THE CITY THEY WORK FOR? Per quotes, it was COMMON KNOWLEDGE at the club WHO THEY WERE. AGAIN - IS THIS ANY WAY TO CONDUCT YOURSELF? THE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION HOLDS THE ANSWER TO ALL OTHER QUESTIONS !
