The Madison Press should check into a house that was tore down. I was told this house was bought by a former council person and it was tore down to make his yard bigger by using this grant money.(There's more to the story of the house weather it even qualified for the grant money) Then the press could check and see what company was hired to tear it down as it was described to me that the town workers tore it down (wonder what qualifications they have dealing with disposal of lead painted material, absess infected building materials etc) There alot of shady dealings that go on in this small town. Maybe the Madison Press could be the HEROs and dig into the TRUTH?

I wonder if OSHA knows they used unqualified people on a worksite. I know that OSHA would have a field day if they saw the village workers standing in the bucket of an end loader putting up Christmas decorations.
If I worked for the town and got hurt doing the stupid shit that they are directed to do I would have a large lawsuit. Just a matter of time with having a street guy run the town.

I was wondering about that house and why it was torn down. I believe the County just helped with a remodel job on it a couple years back. I wonder how it qualified for the grant money to tear it down?
Something smells fishy to me!

Must be one of those grants that Joe Johnson got for the town that the Mayor was talking about in the Madison Press. I have to laugh that the Mayor thinks he is doing such a good job, I thought getting grants was part of his job. The Mayor should be controlling all the stuff that does not get taken care of in our town. Run down streets, over grow weeds blocking signs, landscaping at the gazebo and town hall. Cut down on the utility vehicles racing, yep they don't know but they have been seen racing the 2 orange utility trucks side by side down the street.

"House Dog" no one is talking about the house in London on Oak street, we are talking about the same grant money being used in Mount Sterling to tear down a house.

Use your own advise and if you are going to chime in talking shit, know what you are talking about!

Chill, relax, enjoy the small town. Be glad we can get away with shit. Could be a lot worse. Move to Columbus.

What street is the house on in Sterling? I lived in town for years and was active in projects around town but moved to the country. I have a Mt. Sterling rural route address and I am in town several times a week so would like to do a drive by. It did not take me long after moving to Sterling that things were not on the up and up with the "Sterling government" and after a while I got tired of it all and moved. I am glad I did but still try to report what I think is blatent wrong doing and it sounds like Joe Johnson is not on the side of the residents (taxpayer) and needs to be reported and investigated. Why is it that so many elected officials run on "what I will do for Sterling" but then after getting in change to "what can I do to get what will benefit me and my friends" on tax payer money?
