my first 401k deduction
Posted in the 401K Forum
i just came to usa and started a job and this month got my first 401 k deduction. My question is as below:
-My company matches 100% of first 4% of my contribution. I opted for 5% as my contribution. But in my first pay check, i saw that my company also contributed 5%.
Eg. My dedcution was $200 and my Company's contribution was also $200.
But if my contribution is 5%, and for me deduction is say $200, then my company's deduction (which is 4%) shoudl be arond $180 (or less than $200).
Can any one explain me this ??
