I'm sorry you are misinformed those involved in the accident HAVE read this story and your comments. If you'd like to make people aware of their responsibilities there are better ways to do it, for example maybe starting an educational website that educates parents and the community on safety and security. Maybe your help topics can be a little more gentle to the feelings of those involved. You might also want to volunteer time in a hospital or during lamas classes to educate parents on the importance of buckling in their children. I have a good idea how about writing a letter to Caltrans about the dangers of highway 46. Again the parents HAVE read your heartless comments and so have the family of the parents. We support our family because we are all human and do make mistakes. The key to mistakes is that you learn from them. Im sure that without your comments many people read this article and learned from someone elses mistakes. These comments have brought great pain to the parents....greater than you can even imagine...i suggest that you seriously take into consideration the parents pain and remove this thread or at least the heartless anonymous comments that have been posted.
OK, you win. You will see this tye of neglect again and don't say I did not try to get the message out!

My Heart goes out to the Mothers lost. I have a Daughter that is only 2 months younger than her. She is always strapped in. This is just a reminder how quickly a person can enter your life that you love and how quickly they can be taken away. It breaks my heart. I will never alow my Daughter to be in a car with out being strapped in. I hope the Mother survives.

How can we even begin to question this mother of the child for maybe not securing her child correctly, what about this asshole who was driving her her lane? what was hurry to wipe out a life and ruining a family? God forgive him? I dont think so, you bastards that are always in a hurry for no reason whom cause heartache for families.. i cannot forgive you... for you mother... its not your fault.. I will pray for you... Casey

I don't care what the issue is a child should not be moved in a car without a car seat the wreck doesn't have to be your fault! It is just stupid to even do such a thing like that. And yes a love one has been lost, but a innocent life has been taken. Parents always put your child in a car seat no matter where you are going.

To everybody on here making your comments no knowing what really happened, I was there and I sat with that baby while she took her last breaths and I have to think about that everyday and I see her face in my head all the time, If she was in a car seat her injuries would not have been so bad, she has massive head trauma due to not being in the carseat. I also stayed with her sister while she layed on the asphault while the paramedics tried to stabalize her, she was not in a safety belt either and she was pinned between the drivers and passengers seat and had internal bleeding. It was horrible to witness and to be part of, it was over 2 years ago and I still think about it everyday. Its not the mothers fault they got into the accident but it was the parents responsibility to keep her children safe by having them in the carseat and safety belt at all times. I hope nobody ever has to go through that.

This childs mother has been punished enough. She will be sentenced to a lifetime of knowing she will never have her daughter to hold. Leave her be. I am sorry for your loss. Maybe you can turn this to something positive in time. Maybe teaching other mothers how important a life is. God Bless the families.

I think people are losing sight of the fact a baby died this IS a tragedy. You are right prayer is needed not hateful comments. They are suffering in that family for the rest of their lives. You never move past something like that
